Originally from La Paz, Bolivia, David Lemaitre is the latest signing on [PIAS] Recordings Germany.  His music paires South-American melancholy with a variety of vintage instruments somewhere between Elliott Smith, Kraftwerk and odd Sufjan-Stevens-like elements with a feel from the 70’s.Megalomania in the end sounds a bit as if Jose Gonzalez was crossed with Empire of the Sun. David Lemaitre’s eagerly awaited debut album ‘Latitude’ will be released on April 22nd 2013.
