Chrysalis (Free Download)

The second release in our Anniversary Remixes campaign sees one of our most iconic tracks, Downpipe, reinterpreted by the worlds No.1 DJ Armin van Buuren, Techno veteran Adrian Hour and new kid on the block Bontan. 

Downpipe, the collaboration between our label leader, Mark Knight, master of production, D.Ramirez, and legends of dance music, Underworld, is a landmark track in the history of Toolroom Records. Crowned Essential New Tune on Radio 1 by Pete Tong and forming an integral part of the soundtrack to the opening ceremony of the London Olympics last year, it is still receiving overwhelming support today.

Heading up The Anniversary Remixes of Downpipe, superstar DJ Armin van Buuren delivers up a euphoric, unstoppable, big room remix that is set to take to the throne & join the original. Adrian Hour presents a techno workout that is completely relentless, energetic from the off the intensity doesnt let up resulting in a peak time gem for the underground. Finishing up the package is UK wonder kid Bontan, following his recent Top Ten he continues his reign delivering a stripped back bass line workout with Karl Hydes vocals cleverly chopped into the groove. 

A tech house anthem and one of the scenes most unforgettable tracks, The Anniversary Remixes sees Downpipe transformed across three musical landscapes with unstoppable results.

Every kick off is based on the same chords, and for every event I come up with a different spin on the track. It's getting quite tricky to come up with new places to take it, and a lot of people have been asking me when I am going to be making it into a full track. There's a tie between Dash Berlin and Emma Hewitt. Sharing a musical connection, the latest collaboration of the Dutch producer and Australian singer turned out to be another masterpiece. 'Like Spinning Plates' lures you right into its maze.

Providing a golden lining to each Dash Berlin track she's lend her voice to, Emma Hewitt has grown from a featuring vocalist to a fully-fledged artist, standing her ground. Earlier this year, she released her long-awaited debut album, 'Burn The Sky Down', to great success. One of the bonus jewels of the long-awaited album, is the hauntingly beautiful 'Like Spinning Plates'. An ode to a classic, made dance floor fit by Dash Berlin and sung by one of the most powerful singers in today's EDM scene. The follow-up to the IDMA winning 'Waiting' and club favourite 'Disarm Yourself' is exactly the reason why their musical bond should stay strong.

For his 'United Destination 2012' compilation, Dash brought his very own interpretation, polishing the diamond of 'Like Spinning Plates' to a shiny uplifting trance gem. Australian producer Marlo Hoogstraten, making name under his MaRLo moniker, sharps the edges, bringing out a techy deep interpretation, while Russia's favourite, Alexander Popov, makes it pound with prog-trance energy.

The long awaited White Nights is finally seeing the light of day! I actually finished this track more than 2 years ago, I don't think it's dated that much, but that's for you guys to decide. I wrote this after first playing in St Petersburg in the spring of 2010, where it stays day light all through the night (hence white nights). It's been slotting perfectly into the end of my sets, being as it is 137bpm. Comments are gratefully received as always :)
