DJ Doc's exclusive set for radiOzora starts on 4th January 2014 Tuesday 8pm CET on the Trance channel.

Dj Doc has been a pioneer for the Greek trance community and has been considered one of its founders by introducing psychedelia in a booming underground scene back in 1996. He has been driven by this culture his whole life, thus he has been travelling around the world and has played from small jungle and beach parties in Goa ,Thailand, Mexico and Australia to big clubs and open air festivals in Europe & Japan. His sets are the breathtaking result of years-long experience and are synonymous with an eclectic, varied spectrum of sound, always featuring exclusive tracks from the best producers of the world. The finest psychedelic trance Dj Doc joined Harmonia records from Athens at 2007 and his primary goal was to support with his djsets, the local scene by introducing to the world new Greek artists by combining the passion and energy of the young producers with the knowledge and experience of the well established artists. STRYKER is back with a mix for the second time on the United Beats Series – a special DJ set this time.

Behind STRYKER project is Barthelemy Bayona, one of the most known talents of the French Psy-Trance scene over a decade, as one head of the Hits maker project XSI.

He has an unusual musical past, started DJing at the age of 13 in countless party on his born island, touching electronic music from the tips of his fingers at that time. He started to learn music 2 years after, being now a guitar player for over 15 years.

Discovering the blooming trance scene in 2001, Bart started DJ’ing in one of the most famous club in paris, The GIBUS, where he met Jean-Marc (aka BIONIX) and where they were both resident Djs for 2 years. They teamed up leading to what is now one of the most known french psychedelic trance band, Xtra Sound Independant (XSI). Together they released 4 successful full length albums that have become classics in Psy-Trance genre, including their latest in 2014, an acclaimed energetic full-on album “Dancefloor Apocalypse” which have reached the first place in the Beatport Psy-Trance charts.

In 2013, Bart became co-owner, with his friend Max Peterson (MAD MAXX), of the label United Beats Records, which is known today to be one of the leading label to bring the genuine Psychedelic Trance and Full-On. Together they’ve made also a very avant-gardism project : WILD MONKEYS (a dirty electro-psytrance project made with Max Peterson and Jean-Marc Segondy).

Bart has many faces and he is also a well recognized Mastering Engineer, which is collaborating with the most influent artists and label on the Psy-Trance scene : Avalon, Space Tribe, Mad Maxx, Talamasca, Sonic Species, Dickster, Deedrah, Shanti, Electric Universe, X-Dream, Astral Projection, Outsiders, Tip Records, Digital Om Production, Dacru Records, United Beats Records, and many more….

In between touring all around the world (Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, India, Serbia, Russia, Spain, Nepal, England and many more….) and engineering, Bart’s tastes and personality evolved and the feeling that he has grown enough to make his own project was an evidence. Many emotions bundled together in this project and he doesn’t want to limit himself to one direction.

STRYKER is a result of more than 10 years of flavour maturation. With various influences from Trance, Psy-Trance, House, Techno, Progressive, Electro and more, no limitations by codes with a main motivation : make you smile and dance…

For the lovely party "Divide by Zero inv. Skuttie: BlijeBakkesBijeenkomst The Sequel", on the 27th of May 2017, I cooked up this special set, exploring different facets of goa trance and beyond. A blend of sunshine melodies, driving acid lines, dreamy passages, powerfull stormers, etc. Since I had to play quite a bit longer than expected, there was a fair amount of improvisation involved, but I feel it came together quite nicely.
Mixed with 2 CDJ1000's and a DJM600. Enjoy!

Back from another incredible Burning Man and jetting off to Argentina this weekend, Christopher Lawrence checks in with another slamming episode of Rush Hour for September.

This months guest mix is from Grains of Sound, whose new single “Eager" Fingers” / “Paradigm Bag” is out this month on Christopher’s label Pharmacy Music. 

Grains of Sound is the ambient-psy-trance project from brothers Chris (Exeris) & Jason Sevanick, who gained notoriety with their industrial electronic act, Mindless Faith. Always ones to push boundaries, the brothers turned their production talents to the more underground electronic music sound that had captured their attention.

लास्‍यमस्‍याग्रत: प्रीत्‍या पार्वत्‍या समदीदृशत्‌ ।
बुद्‌ध्‍वाथ ताण्‍डवं तण्‍डोर्मर्त्‍येभ्‍यो मुनयोऽवदन्‌ ।।

    Meaning: Then Shiva showed the uddhat dance, which He had performed earlier, to Sage Bharat through the chief of His attendants (Tandu). He also made Parvati perform the lasya dance, with great enthusiasm in front of Sage Bharat. Lasya is a dance form performed by women wherein the hands remain free. Sage Bharat and others later taught this dance, performed by Tandu known as the tandav dance, to man.

    The dance in which the sound (nad) in every cell of the body (bhuvans) is that of Shiva is called the tandav dance. It is a dance performed by males and consists of postures (mudras), for instance the dnyanmudra is performed by touching the tips of the thumb and the index finger to each other. On account of this the mounds of Guru (Jupiter) and Shukra (Venus) on the palm are joined together, that is a male and a female unite.
