Much like a fine wine, the newest EP from French producer CloZee gets better with time; each listen unveils one more layer in her deliberate and memorable productions. "The Poetic Assassin" is five tracks which are simultaneously fresh yet nostalgic, providing what could be a stunning soundtrack to a movie which has not yet been made. Chloé Herry showcases her myriad of musical talents at every turn, from live strings and keys to intricate drum programming and glitched out percussion. The progression through the album could be likened to the ebb and flow of the tides, as stirring melodies fluidly give way to captivating basslines before returning into familiar emotive territory.

The sport of spider battlez occurs in different forms in several areas of the world. Among them are the Philippines, Japan, and Singapore. The fights that occur in the Philippines and in Japan are staged between females of various species of web weavers. Female spiders will kill a rival if the loser does not quickly flee or receive the aid of a human handler. The contests that are staged in Singapore are fights between male jumping spiders. The males fight only for dominance, and ordinarily the loser will flee, though sometimes they will lose a leg in the fight.
In the Philippines, spider fighting (Hiligaynon: pahibag sang damang; Cebuano: paaway kaka or sabong sa kaka) is staged between female orb-weavers from the genus Araneus. In Japan, the contests occur at an annual festival and use females of the genus Argiope. In Japanese these contests are called Kumo Gassen (spider battles). In Singapore, they use males of the genus Thiania, and most commonly use the species Thiania bhamoensis, although another species of that genus may sometimes be used. Like cock fighting, spider fighting is a sport that usually involves betting and events occur frequently. In Singapore, they are known as "fighting spiders" in English and 鬥蜘蛛 dòu zhī zhū （fighting spiders) in Chinese, analogous to the Chinese term for gamecocks 鬥雞 dòu jī (fighting chickens).

Beak Nasty is a project consisting of producer/turntablist Ryland Sabien (Beaker) and drummer/loopmaster Phil Ade (Foxy Dope) who combine the sounds of hip hop and intense bass lines to create futuristic chill funk/electro soul music.

The project began when Beaker started releasing beats in high school while living in rural northwest Wisconsin. In 2010, halfway through his junior year of high school, he moved to Minneapolis to get more directly involved in the scene and began DJing and producing for hip hop acts Future Fossils (formerly Kids Like Us), Allan Kingdom, Finding Novyon, and a slew of other Minneapolis emcees. He started attending McNally Smith College of Music during his senior year of high school and put out the albums """"When it Rains, it Pours"""" in 2011 and """"The Expanding Universe"""" in 2012 along with collaborations, singles, and remixes.
 
Shorty after the release of his third album """"Chill Funk Files Vol. 1"""" in July 2013, Beaker changed the name of the project to Beak Nasty. Right around the same time, Foxy Dope moved to Minneapolis and the duo connected almost instantly. Phil informed Ryland that he would now be drumming for him and since then, they’ve been playing non stop shows, house parties, and festivals all around the country.  It was also around this time the Beak Nasty collaborated with Vaski on the track """"Weightless"""" which has gone on to receive nearly 10 million plays (and counting) since being released.

Amp Live lives up to his title as one of California’s most versatile and prolific producer-DJ double-threats with the release of his album, MZOZO, now available on Gravitas Recordings. The pieces symbolize Anthony’s embrace of the future, as his forward-thinking inclination to eliminate boxes and labels manifests within the eclectic tracks. Contrasting from previous dreamy lo-fi and experimental projects, MZOZO, titled after the Swahili word for ‘conflict,’ is a progression into heavier bass music and represents Anthony’s change in pace and exploration. This fresh direction affirms his status as an innovative multi-genre experimenter that does not focus on one singular sound. True to his notable technique of infusing hip hop and electronic music, the six euphonious tracks draw listeners on a voyage across multi-genre acoustic environments that include various sensational collaborations.

Featuring Zyme, “Riott” launches the album off high energy by blending hip hop alongside funky bass and a tasty sax riff. Amp Live and Monika Santucci continue the party in “You Know,” with claps to introduce the heavy bass and a fierce horn that constructs the pathway into an electronic wave. Greeted by a flute and spacey trap beat, listeners encounter turntable action in “Dropz,” which signals a new and unconventional route onto another feel-good expedition. Resuming the alternate odyssey, Mad Zach and Amp Live’s “Space and Time” achieves a mellow trap soundscape that tantalizes eardrums. “Let Me Fly” presents future bass with a twist, as metallic synths meld the traditional upbeat sounds signature to future bass into Amp Live’s darker style found within the album. In collaboration beside West Coast Wobble master SubDocta, “Radical Sound” offers an enticing rhythmic flow to tether the musical masterpiece altogether.
