PsynOpticz Psychedelic Podcasts

Terraπ (pronounced TerraPi) is the alias of Maurice from Germany, who first appeared behind the turn tables in 2010. His name originates from his love to nature (terra lat. = earth) and the letter π (:pi), which stands for eternity. The combination of these words sounds like therapy.
A meaningful name, as he says, since music is some kind of therapy for him.
Terraπ describes his sound as creaky with screwing acid and dynamic basslines, which will pitchfork you onto the next level.
Playing with spheres and vibes - at the same time building up and maintaining almost geometrical structures just like the classic orchestra music by J. S. Bach - he brings elves, gnomes and goblins to life ;-)
After five years of learning the mixing process and performing in rather private surroundings, he decided to share his passion with others.
To accomplish that goal he became a member of the chaishop.com-family in 2015. In August 2018 Terraπ became an official dj for the legendary label Spontaneous Aerobics from Munich, Germany. Only one month earlier in July 2018 he started to work for the newly founded label Root Sector Records.

1.5 ours of high-flying, full-power psychedelic tracks exploring the 147 - 150 BPM range. 

Every so often an artist will release a full-length album of such perfection that I have to fight myself internally to not use every single track on the album in my DJ sets. 

Recently one of my all-time favourites - Radikal Moodz(Looney Moon Records) - has just released such an album. I managed to confine myself to only 4 tracks from their masterpiece album ‘Initial Dreamers’ to serve as the ‘peak’ of this month’s set.

The second honorable mention goes to a more recent discovery of mine from Blacklite Records, Gigi. Gigi has been around for a while but only appeared on my radar by the end of 2021. This set also includes the most recent EP by Gigi - Naughty Shanti - which is made up of 4 incredible collaborations.

June features releases from Protoned Music, Sangoma Records, Looney Moon Records, Sonitum Records, Blacklite records, and Future Music records.

Sangoma Records proudly present “Rites of Passage”, the highly anticipated second album by COSINUS. This follow-up from his debut “Science Fiction Addiction” leads to even deeper woodland realms navigated by his sonic modular spaceship. For this release, he found some co-pilots like Southwild, Daksinamurti, Yebah, and Insane Creatures, who join him in his wild space adventures. Gracing this audio journey is the astounding artwork by master painter Emil Holub. Dive deep into the unknown with lightspeed and master the rites of passage. For Cosinus, after 20 years of rocking dancefloors with his energetic sets, the focus is now on his own musical creations that he plays in his livesets (and occasional rare DJ sets). His sound can be described as epic pumping, jumping and snarling psytrance - a fusion between nighttime psychedelic and deep alien science fiction soundscapes & atmospheres . His story fits perfectly to the early hours of the morning as well as the middle of the night – powerful music to tune on heads. An artist that shouldn’t be missed at any party.

In 2013, this journey led to an underground DJ career that took flight. With regular appearances at Tokyo's vibrant Trance Parties in Shibuya and Shinjuku, HO-C's prowess as a DJ flourished. Notably affiliated with the Party Crew "Wing Makers," active in the Kanto region, HO-C's involvement ignited diverse Party scenes. The dedication to sound is evident in the ownership of a sound system since 2015, enhancing the auditory experience. Since 2018, HO-C's sonic expedition extends to PsynOpticz Records, a force in South Africa's music landscape, resonating in Japan and beyond.

The Psychedelic Trance project of Hanré Kotzé, currently residing in Cape Town, South Africa.

Growing up in a music school, Solus tried his hand at various instruments and got hooked playing metal guitar for most of his teen years.

His love for psytrance began in 2012 when he first heard Infected Mushroom perform at Ramfest after the metal band, In Flames. This new passion was fed by attending numerous psytrance festivals and listening to the genre non-stop.

In 2017, Solus learnt how to DJ and began playing at house parties. By the end of 2017, this passion had grown and he started organising public psytrance events.

By 2018 he had performed at his first outdoor music festival. Soon thereafter, Solus decided to broaden his horizon, and started to produce the music he loved so much himself.

In 2021 he signed to his favourite label: PsynOpticz Records.

Solus is committed to take the listener on a high-energy journey ranging from Fullon to Psychedelic.

Creator of world quality events and purveyor of universal quality music, PsynOpticz is a forced to be reckoned with. The mastermind behind PsynOpticz, Calvin aka SwiTcHcaChe, has developed a keen ear for prospective acts, being both organiser as well a DJ. By committing to bringing out new and exciting acts to Cape Town, he uncovered many artists that share his love for non-generic and energetic psychedelic music, and his desire grew to expose this incredible music to the unsuspecting psy masses. Currently, the PsynOpticz stable is represented by artists from around the globe, each bringing their own unique approach and sound to the psychedelic world stage.
