Xolotl is the project of Ernesto Valdes of Mexico City. He met psychedelic music in 1999 and made him see life in a different way.
He started mixing as a dj in 2003 but this never satisfied him. After a while he studied audio engineering and music production to create his own music after a few years of making music he find his sound and create this project in 2014.
During the summer of 2020 Xolotl successfully released his debut album The Secrets of Xibalba with Insomnia Records and became the resident of the label.
Today he is one of the most recognized artists in his country and on any dance floor he makes the dancefloor vibrate, his sounds are with aggressive basslines and acid leads and dark super deep atmospheres that will make you travel in the middle of the night.

Taxonomy of the Psypien:
(Homo Sapien Psypiens- [psy-pɪˌɛn]) - A mammal of the primate order originally from Africa, that reached anatomical modernity about 200,000 years ago and began to exhibit full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago. In the late 90's he began to exhibit regular psytrance-listening behavior, and evolved into a producer in early 2012. 

Psypien is the project of Oliver Z/L, who grew up in the forests of Vienna, Austria, and now lives among the humans of Brooklyn, NY, by way of California. Psypien aims to create evocative, powerful, and unique psychedelic sound, merging 'traditional' forest & full-on approaches with the more 'strange' and experimental; a soundtrack for a realm outside time & space. His mission is to stir up the spirits inside you, while freeing your body & mind. (and makin you feckin dance! ;)
