Ollie is the twilight project of Sami, a producer from Damascus, Syria.
He started producing electronic music in 2011 and quickly found his way into the psychedelic sounds of psytrance music.
In 2016, he co-founded the label 4Drops Records, where he released his first tracks.
Since 2020, he has been sharing his knowledge with a growing community on his YouTube channel, where he shares psychedelic production and sound design videos using both hardware and software synthesizers, as well as Ableton Live and Bitwig.
His music, with its oriental influences and unique sound identity, has been released on many national and international labels such as World People Production, Goa productions, Blacklite Records, Sonitum Records and Multiversal records

My new track "Acid Workout" is out on this amazing VA - Acid Mutants by STALL on Soundblasting Records.

I wrote this track back in June 2023 specifically for my Natarja festival live set. By that time, I was starting to go regularly to the gym and actually liking this whole workout thing, so the track, as its name suggests, is pretty much inspired by crossfit, weight lifting, and cardio. And if you think about it, dancing to a high BPM psychedelic track isn't only an act of meditation but also a really nice cardio workout.

When it comes to sequencing this track, I heavily used three synthesizers: Pigments by Arturia and Vital by Matt Tytle for the majority of the structure, and for the contrast element, which in this case is a smooth squelch, I used the MicroFreak by Arturia with its super silky SEM-inspired filter.

Digital Shamans present OLLIE with a live set that showcases his latest work including all of the tracks of his latest EP "Celestial Redemption". Ollie is the project of Sami SAWME, a psytrance artist and a sound designer from Damascus, Syria. His curiosity for electronic music was sparked in 2011 and since he got into experimenting with synthesizers, discovering the vast sonic possibilities they offered. Slowly, Sami developed a distinct sound identity influenced by his origins, his classical musical studies and endless hours of experimenting with synthesizers and since 2020 he has been sharing his knowledge with a growing community on his YouTube channel, where he shares psychedelic production & sound design tutorials and preset packs. In 2023 Sami signed his project Ollie to Digital Shamans Records and he’s currently preparing a debut EP called "Celestial Redemption" to be released in 2024.
