Astral Tribe is a psytrance collective based in Dallas, TX with members nationwide. AT Records (AT = Astral Tribe) was founded in 2010 by two friends, Shawn Sullins and Tim McCall. Shawn aka Atum has over 15 years experience as a psytrance DJ and has worked with organizations such as Thump Radio and Opulent Temple. Tim aka Jirah/Resonant Dawn has been involved in the electronic music scene as a dj/producer since 1997, playing at events around the world and releasing music on countless compilations and several albums. As a psytrance collective, Astral Tribe has always sought to bring the best of psy music to its events, and now two of its long-time members are bringing their passion for great music in a new way with the foundation of AT Records.

We are a label for artists, and believe that they should be given every opportunity to excel in their craft and have the best possible means to share their art with the world. We bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, providing AT artists with solid working relationships and understanding borne from the many lessons learned along the way. While we specialize in psy-trance, psy-prog, psy-breaks and downtempo, we are open to hear anything sent to us. We want to be a label for artists, and have plans to provide unique benefits to those working with us. More details will be rolled out soon so stay tuned!



GNOSTIC (Dusan Stojanovic) is born on august 12th 1987. in Belgrade, Serbia.

Since he was a little kid, while growing up he showed a lot of talent for music.
Floating through various genres of music , in the year of 2003 for the first time he stepped in the world of Psychedelic Trance. In time realizing deeper meaning of Psy Trance culture, since 2007 starts mixing characteristic styles of power full on and morning full sounds spreading through them a positive energy and trying to, through his DJ Sets, present to people essence of life, higher level of awareness as well as other dimensions of reality.

In 2009 he becomes a member of PsychoFusion Psychedelic Trance organisation from Serbia where with other members as DJ backup performs besides big international Psychedelic Trance projects such as: SHIFT, AZAX SYNDROM, TRYAMBAKA, D MANIAC, SICK ADDICTION, ALIENN, BLISARGON DEMOGORGON, PIXEL, MENTAL DISORDERS, DEL and others..

He performed in many Trance festivals in cities all across Serbia, and in 2011. he became a member of Fractal Records from Switzerland, and also starts to work with music production wanting to through his own music present his understanding of Psychedelic Trance world as one of the sources of positive energy, what you will be soon able to hear in his tracks

BIO:

Distant Touch is 26 year old Ashley MacLaughlin, a British born trance producer and DJ living in Cape Town, South Africa. Ashley's production and DJ style is a mixture of progressive to full-on melodic daytime through to full-on twisted, mind-bending night time psychedelic trance. His musical background began at the age of 8 when he started to learn to play the guitar. At the age of 17 he was playing trance in London clubs and small squat parties and started to write his own music in 2004 at the age of 19. Since moving to South Africa in January 2009 he has performed both live sets and DJ sets regularly at various parties including The Village, Cryptic Symmetry, regular guest slots at Psynopticz amongst others, as well as returning back home within that time to play at parties in his home country. He has shared the stage alongside some of the premier acts in the global scene including Talamasca, Shift, John Phantasm, Hydraglyph, Biorhythm, Slug, Xatrik and Dejavoo as well as playing various back to back DJ sets with some of the biggest trance DJs in the UK and South Africa including Kristian, Libra 9 and Rubix Qube. Ashley has also worked with various influencial producers on a number of collaborations both in the UK and South Africa and has various side projects also currently gathering momentum.The forthcoming year is looking especially bright with a number of festival bookings confirmed in both Europe and Africa.

Universal Mind Gate is a band formed by two brothers known as José Silva and Marco Silva that were born in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1980-02-27.

Growing up with a guitar and classical music I made the obvious progression to the Beatles, Bob Marley etc before moving on to Jimi Hendrix, the Doors and other experimental things. Punk rock came next in the form of Bad Religion and No FX being a favourite out of the skater punk but RATM, the Beastie Boys and early Cyprus Hill were on high rotation. At regular bush doofs i first experienced the Psy Trance and started to search for more listenable electronic music. Traveling around Europe for 14mths with my Nylon string many hours were spent playing, listing and developing my guitar with the buskers and musos primarily from Barcelona. Manu Chao was a massive influences and I had the great pleasure of watching him dance to my rhythms at an after hours jam room until my fingers bleed from the 3/4 inch steel string I was strumming.

Finding a crate of records and acquiring a set of belt driven turntables (which I soon swapped for a car) from a couch suffer turned non rent paying flatmate. This spurred on a quest for Vinyl from the dust bins of Vinnies and hoc shops down the coast where i found rare funk and disco to the infamous Spank where fresh electro cost me dearly but entertained me greatly. After jamming out on MPCs, Korg samplers and drum machines the era of computer based production was now at our finger tips. Learning the Ableton ropes on a PC I finally have a MacBook Pro and can move onto the next phase of music production.

Currently working on tracks for a live set which will mash electronic and organic sounds and include live guitar, synth and vocals.

Biography Robert Weinstein:

Robert Weinstein was born in New York into a family of artists and musicians. His grandfather Philip Sklar, was the principle bassist under the great Maestro Arturo Toscanini and The NBC Symphony Orchestra. Raised in this atmosphere Robert inevitably followed and pursued his education at The Eastman School of Music (Gene Bertoncini), The Manhattan School of Music (Sharon Isbin), Ithaca College and York University studying Classical and Jazz guitar (Tuck Andres, Chuck Loeb, John Scofield, Fred Hand), composition (Andy Brick, Edgar Grana), arranging (Don Sebeskey), ethnomusicology, and film.

Over the years that followed Robert collaborated with many filmmakers, dancers, and musicians performing live, recording extensively and creating unique scores for a myriad of projects. Special creative alliances were formed and gave birth to a highly innovative and unique circle of musicians called upon in his work for commissioned scores. Principle members include maverick-Grammy award winning cellist David Darling (Paul Winter Consort, music for Jean Luc Goddard, Wim Wender, Ashes and Snow), master multi-woodwind instrumentalist Paul Butler, and renowned world-percussionist John Marshall.

Collaborations with David Darling include Musical Massage: Balance, Musical Massage: In Tune , and Open Window . Recent collaborations in film include “Sisters”  produced and directed by Manuel Lopez, “Downsizing of The God’s” , a Vag’ film produced by jsenko productions, “To Remember Him” a film about Indian Spiritual master Meher Baba produced by Shiva Sawyer for which he created a unique piece composed for tabla and orchestra. . In the spring of 2009 the film, “ Peter Matthiessen: No Boundaries” directed by Jeff Sewald premièred to a sold out audience at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) for which Robert completed a compelling score. The film was broadcast nationally on PBS and has lead to an EMMY nomination and productions on other great literary luminaries. In 2010 Robert contributed to Gothic Storm, the brainchild of British composer Dan Graham with US licensing through Hollywood publisher PSI records. Robert’s compositions are featured on these albums used in major Hollywood productions, most recently appearing in,:

Among most unique highlights to date include participation in The Harbor Symphony, St John’s, Newfoundland, a score created for ships docked in the harbor (The coast guard counted the piece off), The project, RIDE Equestrian Dance Theater, directed by Paula Josa-Jones that combined aerial -modern dance (Polly Styron) beautiful horses, and improvised music, and brave musical explorations with the improvisational trio Bridges and Poems, currently in production of their first album (with John Marshall and Paul Butler).

Robert travels frequently between India, Brazil and New York where he collaborates with many artists and is producing music for performance, film and television.
