Zootzilla returns to funk the world with that raw Flamoneous Skunk groove that made his the last record “P’n All Over da Place” such a gritty classic slab of west coast fonk. On “To Lie With Wolves” he not only channels and tunes in to the same frequency as Dr. Funkenstein, George Clinton actually shows up in the mix this time. The Good Dr. spices up tracks like the opening “Something Wicked” over a dense Bernie Worrell/Parliament- inspired bass synth lick. You can smell this sticky liquid chyt 10 miles away and let me tell ya it’s a mutha.

Lord Zoot Von Lewdwigg has again crafted a futuristic street funk classic. It’s no telling who else is playing on here, the groove at times is so thick it could be the whole Bay Area camp up in this mugg. One thang is for sure though, the hypnotic beat grabs hold of your sensibilities and hits you like a toke of that good old California Purp. It delivers your mind, body and soul into a netherworld of fat bass beats, throbbing handclaps, pulsing chants, searing guitar axe acrobatics and ribald scartoon humor.

Indulge oneself into the slippery yet sticky grooves of tracks like the pulsating “N.A.S.A.” The delightfully witty cirrus-cloud float of the Bootsy-influenced “Everytime the Wind Blows” features the sexy vocalisms of Symphony. Zootzilla sweats the P from every joyous pore in his body and is one of the most progressive funksters still grinding out fresh neo-funk in the spirit of his 1970’s funk forefathers. The groove hits you in your “Sweet Spot” every time out. So treat yourself to this highly recommended master stroke. Renowned funk historian Rickey Vincent has described it as not kibbles & bits but the “Alpo of chunky funk”.
