The walls were painted a myriad of beautiful colours, each shone and shimmered beneath the light which poured through the windows up above. The basilica was radiant and glowing in the light of the morning sun as the worshippers began to gather before the mighty old altar. A soft hum from the organ reverberated between the tall columns as whispers floated beneath the spires up above. This was a peaceful place, a heavenly temple of the great beyond. 

Chubby are set to release a killer compilation of house music destined to work wonders on sun kissed dancefloors and in dark, hazy rooms. This is house music as it should be, Ewan Jansen delights as per.

Number nine of Funnuvojere’s catalogue is signed by label founder Massimiliano Pagliara, and comes as a collaboration with CockTail d’Amore resident Luigi Di Venere. Banana Moon is the name of their duo, an acronym born on a summer night walk in the south of Italy, hinting as well to the legendary 1970s Florentine Rock Club. Delphinium Blue is the title of this debut EP. A flower favoured by Derek Jarman, it evokes feelings of joy and warmth, urging us to open to new experiences. The Italo proto-house Tie Me Up sounds like a demand. An unorthodox arpeggio drives the slinky rhythm, crowded by luxurious vocals flared by cheeky claps.
Breaks, a funky bass and a joyous organ characterize the Chicago neoclassic Full Service, making us the wish for a crowded dance floor under the light of the moon.
On the flip the tittle track Delphinium Blue (Kabuki Mix) is a theatre of sounds inspired by Detroit techno, a genre much esteemed by Banana Moon. This track evokes a sweaty warehouse on fire with hedonistic pleasures. A proud nightingale discusses harmony with a 303 while exquisitely crafted drum patterns build up to a technologic Samba. Closing the EP Polyamory sings to interspecies love, leading us for a swim in the blue depths grasping the tail of a playful whale. While the track’s title dreams of unlimited summer love, this song confirms the duo’s unconditional passion for the Italo groove.

Up next in the art:cast special series is Dublin-based artist Dylan Forbes, whose name might have come to your ears due to his regular performances for his monthly radio show at Balamii, his Rinse FM set or simply because of music he's been releasing since 2018. Speaking of the latter, Dylan has put out EP's on renowned labels like Coymix Ltd, run by Timo Deeprhythms and Steffan Todorović, and Echocentric. Additionally Forbes put out two EPs, Smicer and Manual Exploration, by himself. His contribution for the art:cast special series is musically diverse: dreamy House chords meet more technoid or techy influenced takes, peak-time moments alternate with warm(up) vibes and fuse to a fluent and coherent mix that delivers those goodies for any mood and time of the day, either shortly before going out or when coming back home or just for your dose of electronic music.

But until billionaires don't have the monopoly over space travel, Azo's doing plenty on planet earth, particularly in her home of Brussels. In club world she's the mind behind three parties, Queer Future Club, Bénédiction Rituels Exceptionels and Electronic Solidarity, all of which seek to make spaces more diverse, inclusive and safer.

You'll find her behind the decks at these parties and other spaces and places across Europe, as well as providing cosmic soundtracks on her monthly transmissions on community-led station Kiosk Radio. Of course her own productions are from an intergalactic sphere too. Pulling from acid, techno, electro and hardcore, and using her arsenal of vintage synths and drum machines, her releases for labels like Duality Trax, LYO and Biologic - the home of her new release Space Tourism - are full of bright, futurist sounds to lift you up.

Her mix for us, which she suggests being listened to on a sunny dusk or dawn, moves through varying tempos and moods, and captures the cosmic sounds she loves so much.
