Pulsar Top 10 - Autumn 2013

Airzoom & CJ SN are back in action with their latest single called ‘Broken Vow’. The song starts with pitched up sounds that eventually build up to big pads and sliced vocals which brings us closer and closer to the ever amazing breakdown that has a true serenity note written all over it. That is until the pitched up sounds take all over again and bring us back into the uplifting rush of its main leading synths.

Jasper Herbrink’s version is a dark and deep interpretation of the original song. It starts out very mysteriously until it hits it very hard with a techy drop and massive beat which pave the way to the gating synths bringing even more edge to the whole production. Breakdown in this remix returns to its deep side of things that we also heard in the intro giving way to the gated vocals that eventually get us back into the seat of an amazing techy trance ride.

Broken Vow

Airzoom & CJ SN - Broken Vow (Jasper Herbrink Remix)

Max Solar & Next Beat, the Moldavian brothers that have become the well-known residents of our label are now back with their latest release ‘Road To Heaven’. Exactly what the title suggests, the track is a one way ticket to the pure uplifting melodies and big synths that will take you to the trance heaven! The piano line will stand apart from other tracks released today and those huge synths will add that extra dimension for the club heads all around.

Ikerya Project is our old and well known friend, whose name every avid trance listeners already knows, from the amazing original productions to ever banging remixes, this guy tops the charts everywhere. With his latest remix for ‘Road To Heaven’ he proves all this, starting with hard kick and acid hooks the track slowly builds up to the melodies from the original track making the main piano line even more memorable, that is until the kick gets back rushing in with an uplifting euphoria and a big drop.

Last but not least our second remix of this release comes from one of our producers with whom we have met before, Ancient Mind.  Like the alias suggests, you will find something old and ancient in his works that gets driven throughout the whole track, it is these mysterious elements that define his opus the most. Same is with this mix, the intro serves only as the basic surface of what is about the come, preparing us for the magnificent breakdown  that breaths with epicness and mystery unfolding right at you. The uplift features a full uplifting mix that doesn’t stop until the very end.

Road To Heaven

Max Solar & Next Beat - Road To Heaven (Original Mix)

Mark Rustell returns to Pulsar Recordings with a track as sublime as its name indicates.

‘Ethereal’ is an enchanting tune featuring a driving bassline that spins around the listeners and hypnotizes them as a soft melody slowly comes out from below, taking the lead in the breakdown, accompanied by heavy atmospheric pads.

In the uplift, a rising synth slowly sings its way to the top, only to collapse and bring out a kick that teases its way towards a drop, where the synth returns to continue its melodic journey. But the trip isn’t over, with another breakdown where the emotional melody comes out once again, before the synth fights its way back out and into another drop that comes in full force.

The Ikerya Project remix is a more energetic tune, with a punchy, fast-paced kick and a very acidic synth line that dances its way along, before an equally acidic and powerful melody shoots its way to the top.

The breakdown in this version is a lot more emotional, with a heart-felt piano melody that moves forward slowly, before the kick and synth overpower and crush it down, rapidly lifting the listeners towards the heavens.

Ethereal

Mark Rustell - Ethereal (Ikerya Project Remix)

Anden State’s ‘Into The World’ is a slowly-building trance tune that moves towards a simple piano melody that calmly leads the way into the breakdown. Instantaneously, the synth arpeggios come rushing in, surrounding the listeners as they pick up where the piano left off, easing down before regaining energy with the drop of the kicks, taking the listeners on a journey around our planet.

The monster mix is a more powerful version with a sweeping bassline that paves the way for an electronic melody, which cuts through the breakdown as it moves higher and higher. With the drop, the bassline makes a sudden return that is bound to take the listeners off their feet.

Ancient Mind’s ‘Dersaadet’ is a dark yet pumping tune that starts with an electrifying echoing loop rising above the rolling bass and surrounding the listeners before it’s met with an energetic melody that rapidly moves forward and into the breakdown. That’s where all the accompanying instruments slowly fade and the melody is joined by dark, haunting drums, before the string instruments come in, creating a chaotic and haunting atmosphere.

The Jasper Herbrink remix is a more electric and tension-filled version, with a bassline and pumping kicks that continuously cut off as they move forward. But eventually all the sounds build up and rise, before they rush back down in an instant, bringing out the dark and somber string-led melody, which is soon accompanied by a synth, rising and falling as it moves towards the top.

Dersaadet

Ancient Mind - Dersaadet (Original Mix)

Odison is a Serbian producer that had a couple of releases for our label and is now back with his latest single release. ‘Save Me’ is a tune that starts off easily, featuring a very minimalistic lead elements that all breath with a unique dose of musical deepness added to it. Waiting for someone to dive in and save it!

Jumping in to help us with the remix is Aiera, with his ‘Help Is Here Remix’ making original keep its original minimalistic elements but with a more dreamy side added to it. The breakdown also unveils a very beautiful piano line followed by a calming plucks that build up to a really driving progressive track perfect for your everyday enjoyment.

Pulsar Top 10 - Autumn 2013 (Album Sampler)

With honour and great pleasure, Pulsar Recordings is proud to present to you its first ever artist album, a production by no other than the phenomenal Dominik von Francois.

‘Tears Of Infinity’ is a trance album like no other, an emotional masterpiece led by a piano that plays with the listeners’ hearts as it moves along and is joined by a myriad of sounds that dance along with it.

The album starts off with ‘Peace’, a tune as tranquil as its name indicates, with a rhythmic backdrop and a bass that collapse in the breakdown to bring out the glimmering atmospheric pads, before the piano makes its debut as it holds the listeners’ hands and walks with them along a quiet and serene beach.

Rapidly, the tune changes pace, building up with a thick synth. But it’s soon joined by a breezy flute melody that slowly and steadily brings the track back down, and the album seamlessly moves towards ‘Panorama’, where the beautiful piano melody leads the way throughout the track as it teases the listeners before it moves forward in the breakdown.

And this is just the beginning, as ‘Tears Of Infinity’ slowly builds up with ‘Strogressive’, ‘Elemental’, ‘More Than Binary’, ‘Symbiosis’, and ‘Memoria’ - all stunning heart-felt and pumping tunes that could easily stand on their own.

Easing the mood after the emotional trip, ‘Whimsical Winds’ comes along, with its light-hearted loop that dances with the listeners. But it’s not long before the tune comes rushing down, and von Francois’s warm and touching signature sound returns, this time featuring a guitar harmonizing with the melody and leading its way towards ‘Wortox’, where it backs out and lets the piano once again ring and echo in solitude.

Ending the beautiful journey with a tune befitting a grand finale, the album reaches ‘Visions’, a chill tune where the piano melody moves along calmly as it drops the listeners off and bids them farewell.

After making his Pulsar debut with a stellar EP earlier this year, Marian Closca returns with his ‘Skyscape’ project, bringing with him two more tracks that will undoubtedly take your mind on a journey into the world of trance.

The first tune, ‘Steam Traveller’, features a heavy bassline that fights its way with an acidic synth, both providing the backdrop for a light and breezy pad and echoing vocals. 

As the breakdown comes in, all sounds collapse, before they build tension as they slowly rise again, with an arpeggiated synth leading the way over the bass and kicks, till the song collapses once again, and yet again rises, making this tune a very fluctuating one full of questions and uncertainty.

‘Quantum Fighter’ is a more percussive and rhythmic track, with soft beats and claps playing around the bass before a heavy kick drops in, leading towards a build-up of the pads and melodic synth—both gaining momentum as they move higher and faster.

In the breakdown, the listeners are led into a beautiful, open air environment, where the sounds of tweeting birds and orchestral instruments take over their senses.

In an instant, the arpeggios come in, quickly rising towards the return of the kicks, before the sound of the drum disappears, and makes another return, teasing the listeners before making them lose themselves in the final drop.
