For this edition of our MIXED BY series, we're thrilled to welcome Gearmaster, the fresh alias from the minds behind former duo Abdul Raeva. Emerging from the vibrant underground scene of Tallinn, Gearmaster represents a new chapter marked by a refined sonic identity — “more groove, less goof,” as they put it.

In the interview, the duo reflects on their artistic evolution, explaining how the Gearmaster project distills years of experimentation into something more deliberate and groovy, while still carrying the punch and playfulness that made their previous work stand out. With the launch of their own label Slipdisc Recordings, they now have full creative control, and their debut release Time To Slam sets the tone: high-energy, groove-forward club music with a sharp ear for texture and detail.

Starting to get the impression these guys all have hard drives bottomless with heaters. Couple of heads making hasty returns after recent EP releases from DJ Life and Boss Priester, while Argentinian newcomer Guile and Sydney donnies Mtty and Pistaccio make their debuts respectively. 

Administering some proper dancefloor torque throughout. Groove-forward gear deftly balancing playfulness, heft and trippier flourishes like it's effortless.

Swiss shapeshifter Elsa surfaces on Punctuality for the first time, marking the label’s seventh release with a debut EP that dives deep and swims sideways through an eclectic milieu of club influences.
 
Across the five tracks on Web Glow, there are nods to turn-of-the-century tech house, liquid D&B, broken IDM, psy-laced trance, and modern tek mutations. Subtle wubs ripple under the surface, low-end pressure coils tight, and meticulous sound design binds the tracks into a fully realized vision of Elsa’s forward-thinking sound. Enter the unfolding.

Roza Terenzi steps up to remix “Web Glow,” reanimating the track as a skeletal early-morning stepper—the mood is giving sizzling dubbed-out vocal wisps, pulsing subs, and stripped-back drums. “Groupie” notches up the BPM but keeps things fluid with aquatic atmospherix, jittering FX, and drums that skid out and under rolling basslines.

“Fortune Cookie” flashes uk-tinged tech house with shimmering shards of SFX, resplendent with stuttering kicks, glassy pads, and sultry textures. The halftime jungle-IDM stylings of “No Ads” round off the EP in a haze of fractured breaks and dubbed-out atmospherics. John Talabot is the acclaimed Spanish DJ and producer who has brought a real sense of melody and occasion to house and techno. The Hivern Discs boss, as well as releasing a standout album in ƒIN, and fine collaborations with Axel Boman and Pional, is also an in-demand remixer celebrated for being able to create majestical grooves from originals by people like The xx and Shit Robot. He has also put together a stunning DJ Kicks mix and now he has been in the booth again, putting together a typically epic podcast for our on going series. 

Across the course of one and a half hours, the Barcelona based Talabot lays out his musical modus operandi in all its glory: serene house riddled with melody, dreamy pads and wavy tones that speak to the soul. With a rather blissed out and dreamy undercurrent, he slowly works through house old and new and keeps a strong, compelling groove present and correct at all times. Officially entitled "Post Summer Melodies" by Talabot, this mix is full of just that, and is sure to keep you warm long after the sun has gone.
