The TPT HB16 Wire bonder is a manual/semi automatic ultrasonic wire bonder with motorized Z- and Y-axis, used for electrical interconnects between dies and packages/printed circuit boards.
It provides precise manual control of the sample positioning and electronic control of all bonding parameters (temperature, ultrasound power, force, and time).

The use of Deep Learning (DL) algorithms is increasingly evolving in many application domains. Despite the rapid growing of algorithm size and complexity, performing DL inference at the edge is becoming a clear trend to cope with low latency, privacy and bandwidth constraints. Nevertheless, traditional implementation on low-energy computing nodes often requires experience-based manual intervention and trial-and-error iterations to get to a functional and effective solution. This work presents a computer-aided design (CAD) support for effective implementation of DL algorithms on embedded systems, aiming at automating different design steps and reducing cost. The proposed tool flow comprises capabilities to consider architecture-and hardware-related variables at very early stages of the development process, from pre-training hyperparameter optimization and algorithm configuration to deployment, and to adequately address security, power efficiency and adaptivity requirements. This paper also presents some preliminary results obtained by the first implementation of the optimization techniques supported by the tool flow.





The silicon nitride layer functions as an insulating material between the silicon wafer and the polymer film. Passivation of the pillars makes them isolated from each other on the silicon wafer. A 1.5 μm thick layer of photoresist was spin-coated onto the wafer containing the electrode structures, and a SEM analysis was carried out at the end of the process to confirm that the lithography was not affected by the presence of the pillar structures. The patterned areas of the photoresist were defined by UV exposure and development, which are standard techniques used in cleanroom lift-off processes. A mask was used containing alignment marks to ensure the exact location of the patterned areas. The surface was later immersed in a polymerizing solution (for details see below). The polymerizing solution was mixed quickly before the immersion, in order for the reaction to start only after the surface to be polymerized was already present in the solution. After having been left in the polymerizing solution for a defined time depending on the polymer used (10 min for polypyrrole synthesis, and 70 min for polyaniline synthesis) without stirring (in order for the polymerization products to sediment onto the surface), the sample was washed and dried with nitrogen gas.
