Upliftment is a self-produced reggae band based in Paris. Founded in 2013 by Klint (keys, arrangements), the group was later joined by singer-songwriter, Natty Kauka, and a host of musicians of various styles and backgrounds, all united in the goal of mixing authentic Jamaican reggae with jazz, funk, soul, afrobeat and Caribbean stylings.

Starting with songs like "Open Arms," "Believe In Jah" and roots-oriented titles such as "Run Dem Run" and "Boom Bye Bye," the band eventually found its calling, led by a party-inducing horn section led by Yann on trumpet and a rhythm section with Fabien on bass, Guillaume on guitar and Luke on drums. 

In 2014, the band honed its arrangements and developed its signature style under Klint's direction. Delving deep into improvisation, jazz-funk riffs and Natty Kauka's penchant for dancehall, Upliftment created a modern, urban sound rooted in the fundamentals of reggae.

2015 saw the arrival of Charlie on trombone and Bijoux on backing vocals, and new tracks like "Hiroshima," "Love Rising" and "whole of them Chat" redefined the band's sound with new soul-inspired inflections.

Supported by MSF producer, Israel Rinaldo, Upliftment played its first concerts in 2015. The band quickly landed onstage with the likes of The Roots Engine and Youkou Kla. In 2016, Upliftment will be bringing its music to the people with even more concerts and a first foray into the studio to record its first album.

Entra nel mondo della musica,nel 2003, come chitarrista del progetto dub elettronico La’Broster. 

E’ uno dei fondatori del progetto Mystical Powa e con esso fonda l’etichetta (Label) Mystical Records nel 2006.

Riesce con il tempo a dare al proprio sound un tocco personale e ricercato collaborando con cantanti e musicisti italiani ed internazionali.

Dal 2008 produce numerose tracce, tra cui 8 su vinili rilasciati sulla  propria Label indipendente (Mystical Records).

Sempre al passo con l’evoluzione del genere dub, propone un dj set sempre più innovativo senza perdere mai di vista i principi della militanza e del messaggio.

Nel 2019 inizia il progetto live set in collaborazione con vari singers e musicisti.

Selecting for ROOTS POSSE sound inna south of FRANCE

DJ 745 is an independent reggae selector/journalist based in Leicester, UK who presents his Irie Jamms show on Leicester's Radio2Funky 95FM featuring an international selection of roots reggae, revival and dub along with the latest music news, artist interviews, album reviews and exclusive previews.

True to his name, DJ 745 has been a record collector/journalist of reggae music for over three decades and regularly spins music on his preferred format -7" vinyl. His vast collection of reggae spans five decades. He has travelled extensively to search for rare reggae vinyl to add to his collection. His initial love for reggae music began when he was a youth in 1990 when he heard an infectious beat blasting out of the world-famous Daddy Kool Records in London. This led to the purchase of his first reggae records by Eek A Mouse and Dennis Brown. The rest they say is history.

Over the years DJ 745 has travelled to Jamaica, Japan, America and throughout Europe regularly tracing back the origins of reggae music and revisiting reggae landmarks including the original location of King Tubby’s Studio in Waterhouse and Treasure Isle Studios in Downtown Kingston.  With a strong passion to help to preserve reggae music he has interviewed artists young and old including Bunny Wailer, Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond, Jah9, Raging Fyah, Micah Shemaiah, Morgan Heritage, Luciano, Tarrus Riley, Etana, Chronixx, Protoje, Busy Signal, Freddie Mcgregor, and Horace Andy.

In the earlier part of his music career, DJ 745 played on a number of community stations in Leicester, including Fresh FM and has also been involved in Restricted Service License radio stations including Juice FM, and Vision FM.  He has also been a guest DJ on BBC Radio Leicester and hosted weekly reggae shows on internet radio stations include Zion Highness and Reggaespace.com before working with World A Reggae on a number of projects including the Uprising Acoustic Sessions and a series of video interviews including ‘Reggae History Reasonings’.

Jack Hinson makes a mixture of island groove reggae music. Jack has been playing music since the age of 3 years old and has been his biggest passion in life since then. At 6 years old, Jack was touring the country playing bars, nightclubs and events all over the U.S. He would sing one song every night with a band and then it became 2 songs until he was 16 years old and joined the band as the drummer singer. At 21 years old he completed college for music performance and starting writing songs on the guitar. One of his biggest influences was Jack Johnson and he started out just wanting to write songs about the life lessons that he was going through at the time. Often writing and dreaming about the ocean, on top of writing about life lessons he would include a beach flavor to the music to give it the nostalgic escape he was after. Music started to become his escape from rural Illinois and he always dreamed about some day living on the ocean. As the years past and the writing progressed he found his way down to southern Florida where he lives now. Lately he has teamed up and signed under the label Roots Musician Records, owned and operated by EN Young at Imperial Sounds Studio which has become his main producer. His debut single release "Going Back Home" was written about all the music festival days, in which he found complete peace, then having to leave the festival to go back to the real world of politics and other normal daily events, having to leave this festival world of complete connection with the festival family that all unite under one law of peace and understanding centered around art and love. He has just released his first EP "Waves" which is now available on every major online outlet. He is currently working on his new EP which will feature all the songs he wrote in his early 20's. The new EP is called "Where did the Time Go" which is very nostalgic and a very classic vibe.
