I wanted to infuse my sound with as many genres and styles as possible and working with Cormak and Richard, we were able to make this a slower, more powerful track. As soon as I received the topline from Nevve I knew exactly where I wanted to take this project; to this day, Wildfire remains one of the most seamless production experiences I’ve had with a vocalist. The lyrics in this single have always resonated with me, and will forever bring back a particular feeling I’d been dwelling on at the time that the song was created. Reminiscent of past experiences, the words remind of a time when I could escape the world with someone I love, dismiss the stress of day to day life, and simply exist in the moment. With this in mind, the emotional aspects of my production were able to come through, invoking a feeling of sadness, anger, and frustration, but with a hint of hope that someday I’d be able to experience this once again.
