I write rock songs to be played by sweaty young Christian thugs who love God. - G’day. I’m Bri from Adelaide Australia. I am 55 years old and have been a muso all my life. As a hobby, I love to write Christian (mainly rock) songs, not so much to produce them to a perfect listening standard, but to write something that a band could play if they wanted to. I try to use easy-to-play open or power-chords, and relatively easy to understand song structures. The lyrics are not emotional or manipulative, and the idea is for a group of young sweaty Christian muso-thugs to give a few songs a blast through their cheap amps and pots-n-pans drums. I mean, you gotta have a song to play, so here’s a few you might want to give a shot at. It sort of grieves me when I see young lads wimpily and passively playing their instruments in church to soft lovey-dovey church- worship songs … when they should just let loose and blast out their passion for God. (I'm not knocking church BTW... but theres a time when the musos have gotta go at it and it never seems as if these kids do)
In my youth (the glorious 1980's) I played keys in a Christian band called The Juggernauts. I go weak at the knees when I hear a decent Hammond Organ going crazy… and i just love heavy guitar. (though my guitar skills are minimal they are okay enough to get my main musical ideas across) … but mate I love good solid guitar riffs and solos. .... So, I hope some peeps find this Soundcloud site and enjoy and are motivated by the songs… but if some band out there decides to use one then… how cool is that.
