2manycolours is a Dublin-born and Meath-based experimental DJ and producer. After installing a cracked copy of FL Studio onto his computer at 14, he self-taught production and experimented with a variety of electronic music styles, eventually finding his voice in abrasive experimental sounds. His production is defined by the contrast between euphoric sonics and abrasive, deconstructed sounds, taking shape in his own productions as well as club edits (including an edit of Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” that took the deconstructed club scene by storm). He has released music independently alongside being included in the ethereal skies compilation, and is currently working on an album set to come out later this year. Alongside his production output, his DJing profile is expansive, playing both live and DJ shows in Dublin, including having opened Iglooghost’s Dublin show in 2023.

For this mix, 2manycolours draws from an expansive selection of contemporary club sounds, deconstructed electronics and the spaces in between, including tracks by him and his collaborators. Filled with both bright energy and caustic anger, this mix takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and influences, coalescing into pure release.

Athens-based musician and vocalist Evita Manji (@evitamanji) connects the dots between human experience, climate change, quantum physics, and death in an attempt to dig deeper into the primordial truth of existence. Through their carefully constructed practice of synthesis and sound design, led by choir-inspired vocals, they fabricate musical worlds consisting of ever-expanding sonic organisms and shapeless, solid non-materials.

In 2021, Evita launched their platform myxoxym, releasing the singles "OIL/TOO MUCH" and "EYES/NOT ENOUGH", as well as curating the first edition of the fundraising compilation series PLASMODIUM I, which aimed to raise environmental awareness and provide support for relief efforts assisting wildlife affected by forest fires in Greece.

Since their debut performance at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) alongside Eartheater and Soho Rezanejad (Athens, September 2021), Evita has performed in cities across Europe, including London, Prague, Krakow, and Zurich, as well as at festivals such as Unsound, Borderline, Rhizom, and Lunchmeat—where they shared the stage with Amnesia Scanner at the Convent of St. Agnes. They have collaborated with numerous artists across various media and exhibited sound pieces at galleries such as Kunsthalle Basel (in collaboration with Young Boy Dancing Group) and Saigon Athens.

Recently, Evita has performed at a wide range of festivals, including Mutek (MX), Elektra BIAN (CA), Draaimolen (NL), Mucho Flow (PT), and Sonic Territories (AT), among others. In the coming months, Evita is set to release the Spandrel? vinyl, which will include a new bonus track. Their focus is now on developing a new album, set for release at the beginning of next year, alongside an elaborate live show intended for international touring. In the meantime, they are collaborating with the research duo Dmstfctn.

For this week’s episode of CENTER BOOTH we’re delighted to share a start-to-finish thrill ride from one of the most exciting artists working today: estoc. The Philadelphia-based DJ and producer is well known for her dazzling, highly inventive sets, intricate, compelling releases spanning the gamut of genres, startling, often hilarious mash-ups and edits, and uncompromising politics that are the lifeblood of her art. 

Her visceral, take no prisoners approach to DJing has seen her summoned to play transgressive techno parties all over the US, Europe, the UK, Asia and Australia, while her latest LP, Are We Doomed To Bow Down To The Stupid And Cruel? is a growling, guttural response to fascism, colonization and other craven ideologies.

Her CENTER BOOTH set, which plays in a live and compositional fashion, comes from that same place of staunch resistance, both a source of release and fuel for the ongoing fight. It’s hypnotic not in its repetition but in its restlessness, a disorienting rollercoaster of cacophony, distortion and aggressive melodies.

The effect is something like strapping in for a full throttle VR experience, a quest soundtracked by creeping pads, all manner of belligerent percussion, itchy snares and the full kitchen sink of FX. Featured artists include DJ Plead, WTCHCRFT, Dave Quam, estoc herself on remix duties, and the Prodigy, overlaid with extra thundering drums. We’d call it a masterclass but estoc is an artist who simply can’t be imitated.
