"Mantis Mundi" is inspired by the phenomenal painting by the visionary and artistic genius Robert Steven Connett, and revolves around musicality in insects. The tiny, adorable, fascinating, and often alien-like creatures use sound to great advantage in trying to earn a living in a resource-limited, and frequently hostile, environment – making sounds like instrumentalists through specialized body parts and using many methods and techniques. In case you've been living under a rock, this is the newest epoch, in which scientists say we have significantly altered the Earth through human activity. These changes include global warming, habitat loss, changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere, oceans and soil, and animal extinctions.

And it's not just happening on Earth: we've also changed our own species through genetic modification and technology. We are living in a time when nothing seems certain anymore-but that doesn't mean we can't do something about it.

That's why to raise awareness our beloved KENON debuts with a compilation of nine masterfully written pieces!
