The anniversary compilation is showcasting the unique experience which was collected through the 20 years long journey of Insomnia Records. DJs Becar & Sunshine tried to combine together the artits who have been with us for many years along the way with authentic russian darkpsy and forest tracks, supporting the local scene in Russia, which was a big point for the label since the first released compilation. 

Important to mention that the compilation is not about the oldschool sound, all of the tracks here are brand new cutting edge products for the night time dancefloor to fill it with a special psychedelic energy. 

We highly appreciate all the effort done by the artists, designers, mastering engineers and other participating persons and would like to say a big THANK YOU to all ever invloved. More 20 years in space to come!

We welcome you to Digital Shamans Records next release Sitka Snap Psychedelia debut EP -  are people of nature, people of the forest lovers of the trees. They are people proud to sink their roots deep into the ground, tapping into the earth network beneath their feet. 


They ride the vibrations between trees to better communicate with nature and to remind themselves of the intrinsic connections that all consciousness shares. We seek humility in the understanding that humankind is infantile compared to our distant relatives, the trees.

The EP title from Dendrophile “Sitka Snap Psychedelia debut EP”, was inspired by a woodland stroll. In searching for our new sound amongst the trees, we found instead the profound realisation that even the strongest of these ancient plants, share the same fragility that the rest of life on earth is subjected to.

The trees had grown tall and strong along the forest’s prevailing border, the roots at the edge of the forest grow deeper, and stronger, determined to stay upright to act as the last line of defence for the rest of the forest. We invite you to come and stroll for the first time along the windy woodland paths passing Sitka Snaps and loose yourself in the wild prevailing winds and echoes of the ancient forests and woodlands in the north of the UK.

TIP Record's DJ/Producer Lucas O'Brien is back with the sequel to his highly acclaimed, chart-topping compilation 'Avant Garden' (2015) which features a selection of tried and tested sonically diverse tracks by some of his favourite artists that he's been playing in his DJ sets worldwide. For this project, Lucas sourced music from what he considers the most cutting edge, pioneering producers on the scene - Hallucinogen, Raja Ram, Ingrained Instincts, Outsiders, Laughing Buddha, Martian Arts, Earthspace, Audio Unit and Everblast - as well as being substantially involved in the production side himself under his various guises: 'SuperModule' (his solo project), 'Mandelbrot' (his project with Celli 'Earthling') and 'Sybarite' his project with Ric Featherstone. The compilation begins with one of Lucas' trademark introductions, once again collaborating with label founder Raja Ram. Designed to tickle the eardrums and get your body moving, Avant Garden II represents the flow of a psychedelic trance dance party by kicking off with a slower and groovier vibe, then building up the pace and intensity steadily as the album progresses... eventually reaching a more night-time style peak, whilst still keeping Lucas' characteristic funky element in the tunes. Towards the end of the album, the music transitions into a more dawn friendly style to land you safely onto a blissful cloud of psychedelia. As was the case with the first Avant Garden, Lucas used the exquisite artwork of TIP favourite visionary artist Brahma Templeman, this time commissioning a painting exclusively for the cover which illustrates a beautiful psychedelic garden. Trance music goes way back to the early caveman. They were dancing around the campfire at night and banging bones on bones making a little percussion, chanting, and going into trance under the moon and the stars. Today, in the 21st century, we are still doing the same thing. And the idea is that if you dance to this kind of particularly psychedelic music at faster bpms… and you do it for some time, you can go into a trance, or a trance-like state. And sometimes, you even have transcendent experiences, where you go outside of your body and beyond the normal world, into something special, something beyond words. Most of these things we can’t describe in words. But that’s what the idea of trance music is. And to me, it’s a special magic that we can’t get any other way. When you want to dance, and get high from dancing to music, this trance music takes us in a special way like nothing else does. It can be deeply meaningful with other people and within your own self.
