Tamango Records returns to the game by welcoming the blossoming talent of British fast-rising DJ and producer Fleur Shore. The Birmingham native and Undergrowth party founder makes her debut on our label after having received support from many giants in the industry including Yaya, and she does it in style with four top-notch originals wrapped under the entitled "The Evolution" EP. Titled "Thick Thighs" stands over gliding subs, shuffling drums, and light tiny arps for another bumpy house tool.

Cuttin' Headz continues to define the contemporary house landscape with another superb EP, this time from Toman. The Dutchman has been hugely prolific since breaking through and his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets like No Art, Moscow & Eastenderz.

This fresh new EP opens with Madrugada, a tightly coiled bit of tech funk. The kicking drums and razor sharp hi hats are detailed with cool female vocal stabs, whirring effects and dramatic fills that really make the track pop. Better Is Weather is a much deeper tune but one that still packs a punch. The super balmy pads bring a nice summery feel to the breezy late night grooves and hints of garage skip.

All in all, another incredible standout EP from all involved.

After a brief absence, the man who needs no introduction - Mihai Popoviciu, returns to TBX through the front door with an explosive release called 'Breath Control'. The title track starts in with a stripped-back beat and creative rhythmic constructions, developing it fills with a solid bassline, some weird percussive stuff and delayed vocal cuts. The original is accompanied by Perky Wires remix who have put their unique energy into it, obtaining a complex groover full of percussive elements mixed with synths and chords. 'Moves Those Feet' is made in a similar manner in which the groove is achieved by a perfect combination of bass, beat and strange percussive elements. Dexter Kane takes the original to the next level delivering a standout remix full of syncopated kicks, a fast-paced bassline and an overall vibe that makes you move.

New York native Justin Pak is a name that fans of delicate, intricate minimal and tech-house would do well to keep an eye on of late. Now based in Barcelona, the emerging producer really seems to have hit his stride of late, with his latest coming at us here from the Headzup label, a similarly-inclined outlet that’s already turning heads thanks to its no-nonsense approach to top class electronica. On the Back Route EP, we’re introduced to Pak’s music in some style, with no less than three originals all vying for our attention here. As an added bonus, there’s also a remix from The Willers Brothers, a London duo who have been pretty prolific of late in the studio.

The release opens with the sounds of the title track. Loaded with clever percussion throughout, it’s a sweet opening gambit that’s indicative of the producer at his very best. A cleverly structured dancefloor weapon that sound as though it’s been tailor made for discerning, colourful crowds, this one is full of punch and vigour. Not without its many moments of bliss, ‘Back Route’ gets us underway in seriously auspicious circumstances.

‘Detox’ is a somewhat more banging affair, with this one very much geared towards prime time moments. Full of barely discernible, muffled vocals, the latter help to give it a human touch, but it’s the devilishly catchy baseline that really takes the breath away. Subtle but also seriously engaging, it merges elements of deep house and tech house with a serious panache. The last of the producer’s originals follows soon after in the shape of ‘Withdrawal’. This time, the emphasis is on a cunning, space-tinged, future-gazing loop, the likes of which is designed to transport the listener to another sound dimension altogether. Needless to say, it’s a feat that Pak achieves with distinction.

Closing matters quickly after is Londoners The Willers Brothers, who come up trumps with their interpretation of ‘Back Route’. They put a clever spin on the original, bringing it toward deeper territory while adding a real layer of suspense and mystery to proceedings as they go. With releases to follow on Constant Sound and Pleasure zone, we’ve no doubt that the name of Justin Pak is sure to appear on a line-up near you some time soon.

Luuk van Dijk returns to ANOTR’s No Art imprint to deliver his ‘Da Revolution’ EP, accompanied by a remix from fellow Dutch favourite Toman.
Blossoming Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Luuk van Dijk has been gaining a rising-reputation via his infectious underground productions over the past few years, with releases to date via the likes of Solid Grooves, Eastenderz, Oblack, Do Not Sleep and Hot Creations to name just a few. As an artist, his energetic and slick sets combined with his own original material have seen him named as ‘an artist to watch’ by Hot Since 82, whilst also being tipped by industry heavyweights including Steve Lawler, Hector Couto and Eats Everything, and March now sees him make a welcome return to No Art as he delivers his ‘Da Revolution’ EP, backed by a remix from Toman.
Title track ‘Da Revolution’ is a driving and raw cut guided by skipping hats, spiraling synths and infectious vocal snippets throughout, whilst ‘Moved By Me’ harnesses garage-tinged percussion, shuffling snares and driving low- end tones to impressive effect. To close, Toman’s remix of ‘Moved By Me’ sees the introduction of a bouncing bassline, icy hats and a snaking bassline to offer up a heads down, hands up closer, and in turn conclude yet another quality release from the No Art crew
