Sharing here a 'Sangeetika' or Musical Opera of which I was a part. I must have been about 12-13 years old. Although it was an AIR production, it wasn't recorded in their studio. It was a special project and was hence recorded at the gigantic music studio of FTII Pune. Along with us 6 singers, about 40 other musicians were part of it. Several rounds of rehearsals preceded the recording. Track recording had just entered India and analogue was still the popular mode of recording. This meant that if any of the singers or musicians made even the slightest of mistakes, we had to start the recording all over again, right from the beginning!! I remember, we entered the studio at 8 am and left only at 8 pm. This recording is the final result of the 12 hours of exhausting yet exhilarating work put in by all of the musicians, singers, sound recordists and various other allied staff. I am sure you'll enjoy listening to it 😊
