My label, Bricolage, will celebrate a decade of releasing music at the end of the month.

We have a mammoth compilation to mark the date.

The Dormon brothers have been honing their craft since the 90's. Releasing a raft of albums and EPs on some great labels like Piehead, Lom, Senton, Progerik and the seminal Toytronic, over the years. "Toytronic" in particular, was one of the labels that inspired what we do here at Bricolage. It had a huge impact on me as a teenager and the Multiplex "Pinghaus Frequencies" album from the label was constantly on rotation in my bedroom. It's pretty surreal that now, more than twenty years after hearing that album, we can welcome them onto the label. The world works in magical ways.

"Multiplex recordings are far from the standard studio format, as we build up the tracks on two sets of music equipment, in two countries, with two biased opinions of what the final result should be. But instead of fighting for control of the studio and the mix, we surrender control of our ideas to each other, which has worked well so far."

The result makes for raw, analogue chaos. When they go hard they go all in but there's also the other side that seeps through with their more textured electronica that breezes along so smoothly.

The "Colour Kinetica" album has all the Multiplex hallmarks. Abrasive yet vibrant melodies, cyber basslines and elastic rhythms. They take the genre's bleeps and bass elements and put them through their own audio grinder to create a unique brand of head spinning electro.

"Colour Kinetica" is their first new album in quite some time and it's safe to say it's been worth the wait as we get to enter into an innovative sonic realm.

The new «Радиант» for RS was recorded by electronic musician and journalist Nik Zavrie﻿v — one of the key figures of the first wave of IDM in Russia, best known for his project Ambidextrous (https://soundcloud.com/ambidextrous).

Debuting in 1998, the artist has released dozens of records on both Russian and international labels. Nearly 30 years later, he continues not only to create new material and perform live, but also to regularly organize parties as part of the Desktop Robotix series and, together with Ilya Rasskazov, the «Обсерватории Дежавю».

In addition, Nik is a passionate researcher of electronic music history, which has taken shape in his podcast and book «Планетроника», as well as in his teaching work. On his personal Telegram channel, he shares rare recordings, intriguing facts, and other valuable content.

For RS, Nik has put together a mix of energetic braindance and breakbeat, inspired by his performance at last year’s Mestnost label (https://soundcloud.com/mestnost-records) party at the «Мунк» bar.

Eighteen months on from his "Left Hand Drive" debut on Bricolage, Wilks returns with his much anticipated, sophomore EP, "A Soul To Borrow".

Any fans of the "Left Hand Drive" EP will be elated to know that the emotive edges and cinematic backdrops are still at the forefront of the Wilks sound but there's a clear evolution at the core of his productions. It's a sound that is hard to pin down. Incorporating elements of ambient, electronica, garage and drum n bass into one evocative whole. Clean production techniques, a broader palette and more experience has elevated Wilks into a new realm of sound. Electronic music with finesse and grit.

There's a more lacquered nuance in the shades of the melodies on show and the basslines run that little bit deeper. Helping to add further to the stirring depth of all six tracks. The percussion feels tight but luxurious as it meticulously opens and expands around the soundscapes. There's a degree of melancholy throughout but the reflection of the shuffling rhythms provides us with a constant sense of moving forward and upwards.

Intricate, delicate, serene and atmospheric. You can hear and feel that this is a project that has had everything poured into it. Heart and soul.

The experimental nature of Veelargo is clear to hear throughout as we experience drifting panoramic ambient jostling with contorted motifs and incisive rhythms. 

Opening track "Baalm" takes us on a melancholic sonic journey as it gently soars into a crescendo and back again. The pace then picks up as we traverse through realms of acid flecked electro, brisk and bustling beats, laser melodies, alien bass and futuristic sound design. The trip goes full circle and we end on the probing and exploratory "Kalk". A dreamscape of a track that floats along and burrows into your psyche.
