This is track one from my lastest  EP, Arete. Arete has been release as a part of Trimegistus Vol. 1, a three artist split release on Waveform Modulations. You can down load the album here:

Arete is based on and inspired by the magical system of Mage: the Ascension, a pencil and paper role playing gaming from the 90's. 

I have found this system to be a wonderful modern way of looking at the path of enlightenment and the workings of both ritual and practical magic. 

A foci is a item that holds some personal meaning to a Mage. Foci acts as a transducer of magical energy and a spell casting tool.   

This track was recorded in multiple takes using the Novation Kstation, Alesis Ion, Korg KP3, and Korg MS 2000.
