Dear fellow people, 

This is my first EP based on a simple 3 voice synth pattern sliced and arranged in Uplifting melodic ways.

My main inspiration was from Thom Willems, a prominent composer of neoclassical ballet of the 90s-2000s. his work is very percussive, repetitive, yet melodic. Using a slicer gives you a similar sound.

Mindscape

In the alleyway of the psyche, there's a trip going down named "Focal Shift". Like a neon-lit carnival of the cerebrum, it's a ride that swings you through the blinking stars of thought and back again. The melody, it's layered, evolving, a goulash of sound that simmers in your ears. It's got the rhythm of a midnight rain tap-dancing on a tin roof, all arpeggiated notes and electric echoes.

This tune, it's a time traveler, a sonic specter floating somewhere between tomorrow's dawn and yesterday's twilight. It's got its feet in the underworld of trance electronica, but its head's busy birthing constellations in the cosmos. It's a haunting melody, a poltergeist of rhythm and beat that'll get your grey matter grooving and your synapses sizzling.

EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) also referred to as bilateral stimulation is a form of psychotherapy used to treat PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), a condition commonly found in combat survivors, survivors of violent crimes, persons suffering childhood trauma, victims of disasters, and accidents, as well as a plethora of other circumstances whereby a person is mentally scarred by a traumatic life event. 

There are numerous techniques used with tremendous success. Some use a buzzer held in each hand vibrating alternately left to right. Other techniques involve a light flashing left to right. A self induced technique involves crossing your hands, resting them on the shoulders, and then tapping each shoulder alternately. The following technique uses a low tone pulsing left to right with accompanying music. This technique is most effective through headphones for stereo separation. 

While undergoing this process, the subject revisits the traumatic event mentally allowing the alternate sound pulses induce their effect. The process simulates a bio mechanism similar to REM (rapid eye movement), a naturally occurring phenomenon associated with the dream state while sleeping. Revisiting the traumatic event in the mind during EMDR therapy allows the mind to internally, and naturally heal itself. The mind in its natural state is a self healing entity under the right conditions. EMDR assists the healing process without the need for medication or talk therapy.

Focusing on the traumatic event and then replacing them with positive actions and feelings while undergoing EMDR treatment has shown remarkable results in as few a three sessions. Following the session, the subject allows the mind to go blank, and whatever feelings and thoughts are noticed, are put into action. It is important to journal this process making note of the trauma at hand, and the positive, healthy resulting state. 

during a traumatic event, the body naturally responds with eye movement left to right in rapid succession leaving the person traumatized, reopening those wounds every time the event replays in the mind. By recreating the body’s natural mechanisms through revisiting the trauma, the process of replacing the trauma with a healthy response allows one to separate themselves emotionally from the event and view it in a detached state calmly without negative attachments. 

Although experts don’t know exactly why EMDR is so effective, statistics show it to be a highly effective therapy. Further exploration and research into the uncharted wilderness of the mind will likely reveal with clarity why this treatment is so effective. 

Hopefully this recording will at the very least, provide another tool in the healing process, and may be a powerful step toward recovery.

Geeezer, a sage of 51 years, hails from the wild woods of Maine, toiling in the heart of the electronic music circuit for what seems like an eternity. This maestro, steeped in the ancient rhythms of classical symphonies, the playful chaos of jazz, and the deep, dark heartbeat EDM, has concocted a brew of sound so strange and enticing, it'd make a wooden leg dance.

John Rose is a composer working out of Lexington, Kentucky. John has worked for many years doing live radio, outdoor festivals, art openings and planetarium performances. John has been a pioneer of electronic music in Kentucky since the 1970s. He continues to work on solo recordings, and is a sound tech and stage hand. He recently started recording and producing music for other people. John also loves to teach wilderness survival and awareness and has been doing so at camps and workshops around Kentucky and Tennessee.

John Rose’s music is created primarily from his own experiences, what he calls “life’s soundtracks”. He utilizes elements from his diverse musical background, which includes early music (especially the Medieval and pre-Renaissance era), Baroque (owing to his direct musical lineage to J.S. Bach through oral teaching tradition), Middle Eastern Music, Gregorian chant, traditional Celtic and Appalachian music, and experimental electronic music.

Music and musicians who are of interest to John Rose are J.S. Bach, Arvo Part, Tangerine Dream, Dead Can Dance, Gregorian chant, Cantigas de Santa Maria, Alan Stivell, Morton Subotonic, John Jacob Niles, Debussy, and Chopin. He considers Nature and Silence to be the foundation of all music.

John’s music is timeless and pensive, interwoven with images of nature, expressive rhythms, deep space pulses, and industrial ambience. Other compositions contain intricate piano passages dancing across waves of geometric ostinatos.

“Music is structured in silence and has its foundations in the rhythm of nature, out of which springs the language of humanity and reflections of the energy of life. I wish to express this to the listener through my music.”
