For our next edition of the Sound Transitions Mix Series, we've got none other than DJ Physical with a full hour of grooving house tunes. This one drifts all over the house spectrum from mellow emotive tracks to full blown acid to hazy crunchers and plenty of bona fide floor fillers. There's even a sneaky Aphex Twin-related sample tucked in there. This one is excellent for an hour long top down drive. DJ Physical knows his craft and does not disappoint with this one.

Welcome to the 5th label release for @puzzleprojectsmusic from Spanish wizard @ynnad-zeugnimod.

@BenSpaldingOfficial launched this unstoppable record label in May 2020, the first release from B4CK TO L1FE soared to a No.1 as did the second release from FunkeeSounds (@funkygroovysounds). The third label release from Boogietraxx (@Boogietraxxatx) then hit No.5 in the Traxsource Soul/Funk/Disco chart and then hit a No.1 on Juno Download. 

The fifth release on the label sees a return to @PuzzleProjectsMusic for B4CK TO L1FE who brings a three-track EP packed full of killer disco.

The EP from Spanish producer kicks off with the title track 'Scenes' (PPM0008). With a walking bassline, a striding female vocal and some seriously cool filter action, it sounds like a long-lost Daft Punk B-side. Which really is all the info you need before you hit stream/buy. 

B4CK TO L1FE then drops the aptly titled 'The One' (PPM009), With its low-slung bass, hi-energy 80s percussion and fizzing Chic-style guitars, it's a disco strutting anthem-in-the-making. 

The three-track EP closes 'When You Can' (PPM0010), a block-rocking party joint that recalls hazy 90s raves and classic Soul II Soul vibes. The killer broken-beat intro brilliantly tees up the bassline which would have made Prince go weak at the knees.

After releasing Louie Vega and The Martinez Brothers’ ‘Let It Go’ earlier this summer, Defected now deliver a remix from Australian DJ and producer Dom Dolla. The original record, a homage to NYC’s rich Latin American dance culture, was as slick, soulful and groove-filled as expected from two generations of the city’s finest. Now one of dance music’s most in demand artists turns his hand at the Nuyorican house cut, bringing his signature club-ready sound to the original. Maintaining Marc E. Bassy’s hypnotic vocal to a more stripped-back effect, Dom’s use of adrenaline-fuelled builds and an addictive bassline gives his mix of ‘Let It Go’ a new edge. Wrapping up the year with another impressive collection of new music from some of house music’s rising stars and raw talents, Street Tracks Imprint Vol. 9 features a bumper six tracks of uplifting and deep 4/4 groovers.

ANZU delivers a fine disco powered, filtered funkster with ‘Time’, whilst Risque De Choc keeps with the ‘French touch’ style, flipping beats and slammin’ drums on the Roule inspired ‘Instrumental’.  Nonduality keeps affairs nicely rolling, with the tuff yet dreamy sounds of ‘Potential’, and Charlie Boon serves up a light and tropical heater with ‘Strictly Slunions’.
