Description: Mixed and produced by Buff Primer, this is the result of a session using my hurdy gurdy and wire-strung baroque guitar. The guitar riffs are reminiscent of the traditional music from the Gargano region in southern Italy where their wire-strung chitarra battente is used.

Garganetto

During my musical studies at the University of Haliç, I have been studying music analyses and technique, performing both the oud and the violin. In my dissertation, I have worked on musicological matters. My thesis is regarding the unique lyric magazine which belongs to the first quarter of the nineteenth century, during the Ottoman period, which has been translated from the Ottoman script to Turkish alphabet and analysed by me.

Multi-instrumentalist and singer, I specialise in folk and historic stringed instruments. I have recorded 7 albums since turning professional in 1984. These have been with Grynwode, Prego and Dante Ferrara. I have composed incidental music for short films and podcasts. Current work is with the baroque 'Duo Piccolo e Grande' (mandolino with theorbo), klezmer band 'Simcha' (cümbüs) and ambient music 'Duo Damasus' (oud with clarinet).
