Danish four-piece Communions have announced details of their new single. So Long Sun will be released on Tough Love Records on November 10th.

Following their debut EP, Cobblestones, released on Posh Isolation at the start of the year, So Long Sun is available on limited 7” and download, and is backed by another new track, Love Stands Still.

Communions are a new young quartet from Copenhagen who came together at Mayhem, the same four-wall rehearsal space as contemporaries Iceage and Lower, and it's from this same studio/venue complex that most of Copenhagen’s new punk, industrial and synth scene originates.

Though Communions share a flame with the current Copenhagen wave, the torch is certainly their own. The band, made up of brothers Martin and Mads Rehof, Jacob van Deurs Formann and Frederik Lind Köppen, recorded the debut Cobblestones EP in Frederik’s bedroom, where the guitars scream like torn throats and the songs beat in rhythm of young hearts pouring over with passion. On this new single, the band went into a real home studio for the first time, using many of the same techniques from the home recordings but resulting in songs sounding like they were intended when forming the band.

Communions - Love Stands Still

First online single from the Living Eyes new LP "Living Large", due out January 2015.
Out in AU through Anti Fade from January 30 and in UK/EU through Agitated from January 19.

Geelong delinquents the Living Eyes have just churned out a second LP of burners to hit the shelves early 2015, following their self-titled debut from 2013.  
Since then the band have thrown around a handful of singles, shows and a split 7”, but its common ground that all arrows are pointed towards this new long player. As of January 30, the Living Eyes will unhinge a new belt of stompers to make up LP round two. 
The album was predominantly recorded by Straight Arrows’ front man Owen Penglis over a day and a half spent in Sydney at Penglis’ new hideout; Goliath Professional Recording Studio. The tapes were then driven back down the Hume highway and finished off in a couple of West Geelong bedrooms, before being mailed to Rye mixing master, Mikey Young. 
Living Large takes off in a somewhat new direction since the S/T LP, filling out with more sharp cuts and guitar crunch but still keeping the snotty sound they’d always had. In a few words – it’s a poppy punk record that sounds nothing like pop punk. 
But it’s nothing to dwell on - its ten tracks wide and 26 minutes minutes long and it’ll spin faster than your average long player any day of the week.
