London producer Alex Virgo makes his debut on Nocturne, continuing the success of a string of releases on labels including Aeon, Love Attack and Shall Not Fade sister label, Lost Palms.

Inspired in no small part by his recent extended set at clubbing institution, fabric, Lightspeed EP showcases the various sides of Alex' studio output. Out 18th November, the three-tracker explores acid-led neon adventures on ‘Fantasy’ and channels Cowley-esque synth sleaze on ‘Harry's Freaking Out’, before closing out with Ed Banger influenced ‘Lightspeed’.

James Curd joins forces with rising artist Jonasclean on his latest PRONTO instalment inviting a stellar cast of remix talent to offer interpretations of the EP's title track ‘Mullen It Over’with house luminary Robert Owens making an appearance too.

James Curd has long been operating at the vanguard of the underground scene. Chicago born and bred, now based in Adelaide, the talented producer has established himself among the movement’s most reliable protagonists, turning out dancefloor heat for labels like Exploited, Dirtybird, Tsuba, Trax Records, and Classic Records while finding time to score music for film, TV, and video games. Joining him is Our Yunus Records front man and long-serving producer Jonasclean, providing slick vocal textures on this profoundly alluring composition.

‘Mullen It Over’ features sensual synths over thumping house rhythms, the evocative melodies complimenting Jonasclean’s searing vocal as the bassline adds weight to the groove. NYC resident and master of the deep Fred P rides in with a typically affecting take. Regenerating the bass amidst soul-soothing pads and mystical overdubs, he reframes the music as a spiritually charged meditation.

Lumberjacks In Hell front man Marcel Vogel steps up with a kaleidoscopic rework, emphasizing the harmonics and adding soul to the mix. Then the loose-limbed ‘Original Sketch Version’ offers up a floor-focused take, where propulsive chords stand in for the vocal as the spaced-out orchestration meanders over drums and rich synth bass. Finally, house legend Robert Owens rides in to add a trademark vocal to the ‘Original Sketch Version’ on the newly named ‘Tried For Love’. Here Owens’ soul-drenched vox provides an irresistible alternative to the dubbed-out instrumental, lending itself brilliantly to the Chi-town bump of the composition.
