One night I dreamt I was in Mexico
Why I was there I just don't know

The next morning I awoke from what had seemed
To be to me an educational dream
Went to the bathroom washed my teeth and eyes

As time ticked on day turned into night
I went to the bar and thought that I just might
Introduce a new idea to my friends
Of trying a new beverage on the weekends

Half passed ten was the time
When we went to the bar and got our lemon or lime
To bite into when we're done our shot
Of the coolest drink that we'd ever bought

Poured more salt on our hands and drank more down
We all took turns buying the rounds

We drank tequila 'til we hit the floor!

Then I went across the street to see the liquor store clerk

I said, "Hey man, could I get some
of that hardcore booze that's not whiskey or rum.
It ain't vodka, but when swallowed it burns.
I'm talkin' 'bout the drink that comes with a worm."

He looked at me with a smile
Then pointed behind me straight at the aisle
That held the beverage that I adore
So I bought a 26er and I headed for the door
