What we really wanted to do in this one is to explore the possibilities of stereo sound. Got inspired by some electronic tunes of Jamie xx, Synkro and Tycho. We just feel that we need to diversify our sound with some dance elements, as these bass/pad scheme starts to sound boring.

Chad Valley – the alias of Hugo Manuel – is part of the same Oxford collective, Blessing Force, that Fixers belong to, and there is a similar feeling of 60s music being given a shimmery modern electronic makeover. But maybe because there’s just one of him he is able to give the project greater focus; there is no dilution, or sense of boxes being ticked, with Chad Valley – it’s just one idea, gloriously stretched out over four tracks on his sublime self-titled debut EP; one long wave of luxuriant sound after another.

Originally released as part of the ultra rare Westerns EP, PY Music Mondays continues with his cover of the Association's classic "Never My Love". Recorded in Venice, CA, the entire track was built around a bassline which was laid down by Sid Jordan of Minibar.

PY Music Monday is back.  This week's song was written when PY was living at the house near the top of Coldwater Canyon in Los Angeles.  Originally recorded during Nightcrawler era sessions, the reflective "Lions" was featured on the Westerns EP, which was available only at LIVE shows for some time.

This week's PY Music Monday continues with an excellent live version of "Lose You", recorded at the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, CA during the Back and Fourth tour. At the end, the boys really take it up a notch....which is uncharacteristic for such a usually subdued song. Enjoy.

With lines like "let your diamond bracelet fall....over the Ice Age", the song dives into the struggle to let stuff go.  This fan favorite is another classic song from Pete Yorn's album Nightcrawler.
