But there is hope for change through individual and collective efforts to break this dynamic and promote values beyond the material. Disconnect from the system! Most people are brainwashed... Possession, once a sign of security and independence, is now often a shackle that binds people to a never-ending cycle of work, purchase and debt. This development has far-reaching consequences for our mental health, social relationships and the environment. Constant consumption not only promotes a throwaway society, but also contributes to an unequal distribution of resources and power, which increases social inequality.

crumbling through tangled footholds, oily stings lacerate my latex skin and exsanguinate my touch, my cold. gazing eyes in our bleeding garden 

clumps of rot skewer my commandments. urchins sinking and clawing erratic.

he writes the truth about the garden he kept trying to build in their backyard, how it was an unfinished project, one that was kept secret from her only because he knew white lillies were her favourite flower, and how he wanted to suprise her one spring with rows upon rows of them. he imagines her face when she read the letter and finds out. the thought brings out a weak smile

Crushing Days is about completing an era in my life where I was chasing unrealistic, illogical and bad relationship prospects.  It's about understanding who you are, what you need and what you don't.  Just because someone is exciting or interesting to you, it doesn't mean that it's a good match.  Prioritize what you need first.

This album is a collection of songs I wrote about relationships during the late 90s and early 00s.  It's all acoustic featuring an acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, mandolin and brushed drums.
