Being a production line of carefully crafted composition with a meticulous production standard, Calyx & Teebee have delivered yet again. And after dominating the Beatport Top 100 with their most recent single ‘A Day That Never Comes / Snakes & Ladders’, they won’t be applying the brakes anytime soon, especially in the lead up to their greatly anticipated second album on the Ram imprint.

Back on vocal duties, Calyx demonstrates the pair’s multi-dimensional approach to beat making. With plucky percussion relaying you through bouncing subs and a drivingly solid bassline, it defines their vast repertoire of style. Artificial Intelligence will be releasing their next album with Metalheadz and it’s their most accomplished work to date. A mature, confident long player that when listening you can’t help but feel is ‘potential achieved’ and a genuine pleasure to be releasing via the label.
The aesthetic of the album harks back to early AI material. It’s full of soul but has darker moments amongst its beauty. The palette of the project draws on classic era Jungle and goes as far back as Chicago house but in its entirety it’s much more than that; they are just some of the influences to be found on an expansive album that ticks many boxes.
Collaborations on the album come from SCAR and newcomer Dawn Wall whilst vocals are taken care of by DRS, Terri Walker, Steo and MC Sense.
Let’s leave label boss Goldie to have the final say on the album; ‘Artificial Intelligence have given us some great music in the past so naturally I’m really happy that we’ll be releasing their latest album, I’ve been a fan for a long time’

EATBRAIN channel a tale of a forgotten age through the unique minds of SEGMENT & CONCEPT VISION and their MAMMOTH EP. Featuring 4 precisely engineered cuts of audio that reach into the fraught and fractured core of existence and tear deep grooves into those who listen. VINTAGE opens the EP with luscious dub-driven pads and undulating tones that drop into a shifty and tight neurofunk banger, punctuated by pitched vocal stabs. RADIANT tears up the dance with a strobing and sweeping bassline, backed with a beautiful yearning melody and soft arpeggios. The title track of the EP MAMMOTH takes careful aim before striking a series of brutally syncopated blows, before HEIST takes down the rave in a flood of sirens leading to a stepper with an eminently catchy hook and deep, driving vibe.
