Quickie from us: "HOLY SHIT, FINALLY THIS FUCKING SONG IS OUT... This song was meant to be an Edit to promote a show we had at LIV in december. Initially we had Disclosure's 'Fire Starts to Burn' over the track and thought the drop was way to hot to use someone else's vocal. So we had this ridiculous idea to create a song around the concept of the #SELFIE. We really weren't sure if this was the most brilliant idea, or worst idea we ever had... So we had our home girl Alexis come over and within an hour we had 2 verses and the song done. At that point in time we thought it was hilarious but we were quite sure how it would be received, but seeing as we aren't pussbags and music is about experimenting and having fun, we put it out. 2 days later the song had 200k plays and about 1% negative feedback. So we went to Dim Mak who we always loved as a label and asked them if they were interested in it, if we went back in added a new verse and changed the drops. 6 Weeks later here we are, with an amazing Music Video compiled with all this great submitted #Selfies from Fans, Friends, DJS and Celebs. So we hope you all enjoy the tune as much as we did putting this whole project together. This is our first EVER Original release and it would mean the world to us if you all bought the song, shared the video and took #SELFIE video... ”

4) #Selfie was named word of the year in the USA and The Netherlands...

When we woke up at 10AM Friday morning to our manager shaking us and saying 'guess what you guys are playing Mainstage in 6 hours' we told him to fuck off and let us sleep and his joke wasn't funny. He insisted he wasn't lying and to turn up...then we lost our shit in excitement.

We decided we were going to wing it and keep in the mood of the spontaneity that was taken place. Let us tell you when we got on that stage for sound check we shat ourselves. Looking out into the huge open field from the booth (cause the gates hadn't opened) we just smiled ran to the bar and threw back a couple shots. 

This day and set is dedicated to everyone in our family, our close circle of friends who believed we could do this, our manager Adam and Enes who work harder than anyone in the business, and our agents Hunter and Mac who got us this taste and now nothing else will do and our fans who have supported us from our first remixes through the chaos of #SELFIE... Nobody in this music world has fans more connected and die hard than us! 

Life is a series of opportunities... you never know when you will get them but when they come however they come make sure you grab that motherfucker and win.

1) we got to play Mainstage as a result of filling in for Laidback Luke and his wife Gina having a baby! Congrats Luke and Gina!
2) we had 5 shots each prior to the set

4) we were the only ones to play Levels at ULTRA..well besides Deadmau5

Quickie from us: "The Thing about Foxes is we Love her... Her vocals are beautiful and effortless and carry such a nice emotional sense of gravity. Its why we think her vocals always do so well with dance music. Holding onto Heaven was definitely a fun challenge for us to remix. The original is very far from a dance track and we wanted to think out of the box and do something unusual with the vocal. Additionally there were so many cinematic parts to the song to use particularly the string. In our remix you will here some vocal transposing that we think adds this very strange but unique edge that cuts through. That paired with our melody and the strong we think we came out with a very dynamic song thats in a constant flux of feeling."

Quickie from us: "So for those who don't know Guy Sebastian is a pretty big name in Australia and soon will be in States. He won Australian idol and was a judge on the Aussie X-Factor. That beats the hell out of our Bio, dudes who made a song about #selfies and have 20 #1 Hypemachine songs, and can drink a bottle of Patron in less than an hour. Anyway, when Guy's ppl reached out to us about this song we were happy to lend a hand at a remix. We thought it was a nice departure from our usual stuff and would be fun to do something a little more pop based. The missions was clear, make a radio friendly remix that lent itself to the song and its vocals but keep it simple...'

About the video (https://relaxdaily.net/video-n070/ ): I captured the video footage in early May 2013 around Criel-sur-Mer, Normandy, France. Weather-wise that day was pretty mixed, starting a bit cloudy but ending quite sunny, but you see that in the vid yourself. Ever wondered where the phrase "free as a bird" comes from? You might get the idea when you watch out for the seagulls' playful maneuvers in flight. At some point I felt like I wanted to fly with them (probably not a healthy idea to execute when you stand on a cliff, some 80 meters above the shore... did someone already develop a working flying suit?)
Anyway, I enjoyed my short trip to the Normandy very much and created the music track back home a few weeks later. Hope you enjoy,
