Welcome to the first of three EP’s from the young prodigy hailing from the deepest darkest dankest corner of some probably lightness airless room nestled away in ye olde South-West England. 

Finally emerging like some untamed ungroomed yeti from said murky corner, the young whippersnapper unleashes three similarly dank and deep cuts for Tough Love: Part One in the form of the slimy yet crunchy ‘Gherkin’, the chug chug chug number that is ’Motion’ with fellow bass booter T>I, all alongside one that surely needs no more progress whatsoever, the tub-thumping ‘In Progress’ alongside Acid Lab. 

Serious pieces of music from a not so serious man, we can’t wait for you to unleash these on the unsuspecting ravers in the club. They’re going to smash down walls and beat up rigs, and this is just the beginning of the new Tough Love project from the man they call Myth!

Soul Deep Digital and Dan Guidance are proud to present the Instant Connection EP, which is now available in all major digital stores and streaming sites.  The U.K.-based producer returns to the imprint and delivers a beautiful set of Liquid compositions that show off his keen song-writing ability.  Dan Guidance continues to build an impressive catalogue of songs, and the “Instant Connection EP” is another journey into his creative world.  

The release kicks off with the hypnotic sounds of the title track, “Instant Connection.”  The song is highlighted by steady ticking drums, warping keys, edgy mid-basslines, and a mesmorizing backdrop os synth pads and strings. “Fuzzy Buzz,” is up next and drifts along with its warm piano chords, crunchy drums, rolling sub-bassline, and ethereal vocals.  “Find Me,” is up next and captures a more dance floor vibe with its reese baseline, epic vocals, drenched backdrop, and stripped down drum pattern.  Dan Guidance lays down the wicked Liquid/Jungle vibes in the track, “This is the Last Time.”  The track blends wandering horn riffs, echoing vocals, and a warm sub-baseline, falling underneath a choppy Jungle break.  “When There’s Soul,” rounds things out in style with its echoing piano keys, airy pads, snappy drums, and bouncing bassline.  Dan Guidance continues to make a name for himself in the production scene.  The Instant Connection EP will further expose the listeners to the magical production skills that he possesses. September’s 2017 SUNANDBASS Podcast comes from a scene stalwart. He’s a producer, DJ and promoter who has put in some serious miles to help shape the musical Drum & Bass scene into what it is today – this is Ben Soundscape. 

Initially making his names as part of Bristol based duo ‘The Insiders’ in the early 2000s, Ben and production partner Joe signed tracks with almost every single heavy hitting label in the scene to great fanfare.

Alongside producing tracks, he runs his label ‘Intrigue Music’ that he set up in 2009 – an imprint that has become known for showcasing some of the biggest names in the scene, alongside numerous fresh up and coming talents. The label is run alongside and named after his infamous night ‘Intrigue’ in Bristol, one of the UK’s best-known and respected events.

A prominent voice in the thriving new generation of drum & bass artists, yet she broke through in her early 40s. A discerning, deep-digging selector, yet you will never be able to book her for a club set… In the vast oceans of D&B talent, in every direction you look, pyxis swims upstream.

Certifiably one of a kind, pyxis – Marisa to her friends – has deep roots in the industry behind the scenes, working royalties for over 20 years for hundreds of high-profile artists from Alix Perez to Hybrid Minds, ensuring everyone gets paid. Then came a time when the scene started paying attention to her own art… 

Forever tinkering with ideas since her mind was first blown by LTJ Bukem’s ‘Music’, pyxis finally put her own music out in 2019. Long overdue, an explosion of inspiration led to a whole range of flavours flexing from jungle-inspired grooves to gilded sunny-side liquid on influential and inspiring labels such as Goldfat, Four Corners and Eloisa, with whom she released the ground-breaking first all-female produced and fronted EP in drum & bass in 2020 – the XX EP. 

In her short-but-meteoric rise so far, pyxis has also collaborated with the likes of Mitekiss, Iris, Nickbee, Kleu, Phil:osophy, Low:r and other labels she’s released music on so far include Goldfat, Spearhead and Pilot, and her own Beats In Mind imprint, a non-profit platform that champions new talent with regular VA drops, all strictly to raise funds for mental health organisations. It’s a cause close to pyxis heart as her acute social anxiety has led to her being unable to attend events for a great deal of her adult life and taken her off the well-beaten club and rave track almost all artists tread. 

This has a huge influence on everything pyxis puts out into the world. Rather than being inspired by making big dancefloor weapons, Marisa’s music is guided by life, family, friends and the great outdoors from which she takes her name from… Named after the constellation, which is also known as the Mariner’s Compass, she’s become a guiding light on the soulful and deeper side of the ever-growing drum & bass movement. Living up to her alias in every possible way; in a sea of stars, pyxis shines bright.
