Hottwerk Records are delighted to present their first release of 2018, and in doing so, welcome Don Dayglow to the label.
Already gathering fanbs at a rate of knots with his releases on labels such as Midnight Riot!, Don Dayglow brings two gorgeous slabs of disco with this release; First up, title track "Love To Pluto", featuring the talents of Jack Baldus, builds into a piano driven treat. And "Shark Juice" takes us deeper onto the dancefloor, to the darker end of the disco.

Don Dayglow

Having come to prominence under the Ewan Hoozami monicker, Adam Hignell has been bringing the funk to audiences across the globe for over 10 years.
2017 marked the birth of his Don Dayglow alias, devoted to Disco, House and Electronic music old and new. 
The debut Don Dayglow release came out in February on the world-renowned Midnight Riot Records, with subsequent efforts drawing praise and support from similarly esteemed players in the scene, such as Fingerman, Goodgroove, Andy Buchan, Dom Servini and many more.
Releases through Thunder Jam, Breakbeat Paradise, ISM Records and his own Particle Zoo Recordings are set to further enhance Don's growing reputation, alongside guest mixes for Real House Radio, Barulho Bom and Thunder Jam Radio.
Based in Abu Dhabi, with a brand new residency soon to be announced, and a slew of forthcoming originals, edits and remixes, Don Dayglow's explosive emergence onto the Disco scene continues apace.

She had a short-lived and relatively unsuccessful stab at Disco from 79-81, most famously recording the minor hit Love Rush in 79. I picked this up a few years back and always had a soft spot for it... hope I did it justice

We are delighted to welcome the uber talented beatsmith, artist and composer Rodin to Particle Zoo. 
His music is loved by the likes of Strictly Kev, Nu-Mark, Rob Luis and other such beatsy luminaries. 
The incredible 'Asha' album was created from old bolloywood records, and has been remixed by some brilliant beatsmiths such as Benjamin One, Edison, Nik Laker, Pete Sasqwax, Sir Wombat, Long Distance Dan and our own Don Dayglow. Out on Particle Zoo on Friday Nov 22.

This song was recorded right after my new wife and I returned from our honeymoon in the Maldives. We were staying in a crazy luxurious villa on a private island, where little sharks and shoals of anchovies would gather right at the shoreline by day, and at night the waters were filled by bright blue luminescence. I've never seen anything so beautiful. 
The track contains field recordings of my wife and I wading through the bioluminescence. It was pretty magical. 


The debut Don Dayglow album is here. Don's sound has evolved from the Disco edits that launched his career, bringing in more disparate and eclectic sounds and blending them with analog synths and drum machines. While fore-mostly known as a club-focused DJ/Producer, Analog Drift is altogether more song-based.
Influences range from Afrobeat, 80s Boogie, Disco, House, Hip-Hop, Gospel and Indie-Dance, culminating in a unique and diverse sound. Heavily indebted to the past, yet not defined by it.
All music and vocals written and performed by Don Dayglow, aside from Body Rhythm and This Feeling, which feature the incredible soul voice of Andre Espeut.
The songs on this record were performed and recorded over a 3-year period from 2017 to 2020.

International man of mystery, unbridled Lothario and serial raconteur Wilson Knickit makes his Particle Zoo debut with 3
original cuts.

Joining forces with partner-in-partying Sir Funk on title track Sunshine, they invoke the hedonistic spirit of their epic DJ sets at the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club.

It’s proper Disco-House with sizzling percussion, uptempo vibrations and both eyes on the dancefloor.

Remixes come from rising stars of Nu-Disco, Paper Street Soul, and Hot Digits’ Picklejam. PSS employ live bass andvguitar with sparkling, authentic 80s synth magic, while Picklejam beefs up the original and takes it into Nu-Disco territory.

In The Mix marries a classic 90s House sample with more upbeat vibrations, while label boss Don Dayglow flips it on its head in favour of some bass-bn bothering basement rave Acid House.

A sweet and sophisticated closer, Fall For You rounds out the EP with slick, rubbery Nu-Disco power.

Paul Reeve has produced for some of the biggest names in the UK music business, including Muse, Steve Harley, Razorlight and Supergrass. Recording and mixing vocals is one of his favorite parts of the job, a process which he was kind enough to discuss on our humble podcast.

Review: A warm welcome back to paradise Discs main man Picklejam, who returns with what appears to be his first solo EP for almost 18 months. The Leeds producer is on fine form throughout, with the three original productions all hitting the spot. Choose between the Bobby Orlando-goes-nu-disco synth shimmer of 'Moonlight Impulse', the Jan Hammer-does-Italo-disco bubbliness of 'Virtual Joyride', and the NYC freestyle/proto-house fusion of 'Tucker's Disco'. The accompanying remix package is reliably solid, too, with Keith Fortune's sparkling, synth-heavy take on 'Moonlight Impulse' being our pick of the bunch (though Stephen Richards' chunky, funk-fuelled revision of 'Virtual Joyride' is also ace).
