"Spending Life" DJ Mix - July 12, 2009

This is a set recorded at the monthly "Black Pancakes" party at The Triple Crown in San Francisco. The party is named "Black Pancakes" as the DJs for the night are limited to just playing vinyl records. So, yes, this is a 100% vinyl set and, in honor of that, I span the years of my vinyl collection, including favorite tracks both new and old. I don't have a tracklist as this was done by the seat of my pants, but if you'd like to know what a particular song is then just leave a timed comment and I'll reply with the goods. Enjoy!

In between days of constant super-villain scheming and nights alternately spent fighting crime I was able, in the twilight time, to record this DJ mix suitable for chunky solar system travels.
Conspicuously titled “The Magic Hour Mix”, referencing the photographer’s favorite time for warm light and long shadows, it might also be a splendid time for making a DJ mix, or listening to one … and here it is. Shadows replaced by tape delay echoes and hue substituted with sudden shots of reverb. Songs I dig found within. My mix, your hour. Enjoy.
