Early Modular Moog oscillators (the 901's like mine)don't have pulse width modulation. OK, they have a pulse width knob... so you can set the width which then remains static. If you want to 'modulate' it you would need to turn the knob by hand..! I decided I wanted to add PWM and I located a simple LFO (low freq oscillator) circuit on the net, built it and finally got it to work today. Next of course I had to 'test-hook-it-up' to see if it did indeed do the job. If it did, then the plan was to install two circuits, one each into my 901a Osc controllers - permanently. I could have used other modules in the system but that just ties them up, so a dedicated triangle LFO is the way to go. So here's the result of my testing it out. Here I am only modulating one bank of 2 oscillators... there are another two switched in most of the time and I am varying those by hand. Actually, leaving them set and letting the new LFO sweep the others is a great effect... 'Lucky Man' at the end... hmmm, on square/pulse wave.... interesting. Don't think Emo ever use a square wave... or did he.!?
