It can be pretty cold in February, depending on where you are on our tiny globe hurtling thru the galaxy. So the powers that be invented Valentines-day to warm people up a little bit. So to celebrate this event and help make your winter months just that bit warmer, I present my second single of 2022: 'Declaration of Dependence'!

Driven by a bassline that acts like a warm blanket, this melodic deep house track gently helps you flow into your zone using soft piano and synth tones. The drop features some trademark Qbical sequences to put a little more energy in the mix. All the while, whispering voices add just a touch of sensuality to make this club-time love song complete.

ICONYC is pleased to welcome Dutch maestro Qbical with his latest 2 track EP 'What’s Life' to the label. With previous outings on Manual Music, Bullfinch, Cinematique and Soulful Techno Records to name a few, the Dutch producer is no stranger to the scene with his tech influenced productions. 

We kick things off with the title track ‘What’s Life' a stunning driving melodic techno affair, that utilizes a deep groove as the basis of the track underpinned by a deep bass and vocal that gradually eases its way to the breakdown before unleashing into a rising melodic hook that culminates into the highpoint of the track as the full force of percussive drive and harmonies combine to see out this great opener. Exciting and essential stuff!

Next up we have 'Lose It All' an amalgamation of rugged bass tones, subtle drum programming and cleverly chopped samples and intricately weaved chord progressions, building to a beautiful breakdown before gradually rebuilding the elements to a unrelenting crescendo of driving beats and an ever warped bassline, before all manner of varied tech influenced sounds weave in and out of the stereo field, making it the perfect companion to close out this fantastic EP from Qbical.

With pounding melodic arrangements that are so warm and driving, Qbical once more reinforces his status as a true craftsman with the excellent 'What’s Life EP', which is certain to find its way into the playlists of the big name brigade. Techno maverick, Vitalic, will release his eagerly anticipated album, ‘Rave Age’ on November 5th through Different Recordings. Renowned for his blistering, sought after productions, Vitalic will up the ante with an incendiary, brand new live show coming to a venue near you later this year.

Mixed by legendary production wizard, Stephane Alf Briat, known for his work with Air and Phoenix, ‘Rave Age’ is a ballsy, firecracker of an album that showcases not just a passion for big room, electro smashers and electronica, but a broad set of influences that stretch from punk and film soundtracks to disco and indie dance. 

Showcasing a myriad of talent roped in to give this album added punch, it features the vocal efforts of Joe Reeves (Shit Disco) on ‘Fade Away’ and ‘Next I’m Ready’. French starlets Owlle and Rebeka Warrior (Sexy Sushi) appear on ‘Under Your Sun’ and ‘La Mort Sur Le Dancefloor’. Mickael Karkousse from Belgium electro rockers, Goose, lends his skills to ‘Rave Kids Go’.
