I recently find out (well, my ears already heard sum of the works/trax they contributed in before.. but knowing them by their name recently is my baaaaad!) who Yvonne Turner is. Then dive into the archives from every source I am able to reach to listen more and moreeeee and more of them, and discover more multi-craft-persons, such as Basic Sound Unit! 

Finally I found a profile on SLSK with full of house / electronic music, 'POP' of early 90's, a real deal archive like kinda got every LP converted in digital starting from '87-'88 to '94-'95. AND, started to download. >>>>>> 

Right after, the owner of that profile asked in loud in a SLSK message what the hell I am doing as I don't have stuff to share, but downloading a lot from them! I said I know, I am sorry, I use SLSK rarely and my files are everywhere....I am not that person who has the 'ability' of archiving things (WISH I WAS, unuttuğum neler neler var kaç CV çıkar), but has my own way(s) to keep what at hand LOOOL. 

All in short, I wrote a long message like I am writing now explaining how I found their profile right after I got amazed by Yvonne's works. Thankfully, they said ok, now you can download, welcome! 

This set (well, lets call it a mixtape) is randomly recorded right after what I downloaded & listened & amazed mostly from that archive! This is the sound of house music, and this random selection is my way to gratitude all, who made these sounds stay forever, together! <3

Astral VIP (and more) are here to remedy the monotony! by rehashing what you’ve already heard? but alas, no one is perfect. Outliers and outcasts have always created pockets in the mould of the city, smoke and wubs away from the lights and hammer. This collection of 14 tracks comes from such a dent, representative of different scenes all dedicated to this approach, coming from dank corners, away from big business.

Our offering is a tribute to the mix CDs of dance before (Global Underground et al), with AVIP’s very own Dugong on the 1s and 2s blending contributions from analogous crew into one continuous mix. Future-past made present, for potentially discontinued CD drives. For the sake of tangibility, in times that surge ahead regardless.

All profits from this compilation are being donated to 3EZWA Legal Fund, to help financially assist those facing draconian legal fees as part of the current protest movement in solidarity with Palestine & Lebanon.

London’s Yves Tomas distills his technical prowess and wide-ranging influences for Hypercolour with the new single ‘The Original’ 

Cutting his teeth in studios with some of grime’s most prominent acts before signing to Rekids under the mentorship of Radio Slave, Yves has made a name through club-ready releases on Rinse, System Records, and Interlink. His genre-fluid creativity has earned co-signs from heavyweights like Todd Edwards, Skream, Helena Star and more.

Lead track ‘The Original’ is equal parts raw and refined with driving rhythms and razor-sharp sound design through hyperactive sample splicing and gripping sub. ‘Always Been A Grime Kid’ is a high-energy fusion of UK grit and Detroit groove, driven by bounding 909 drums and icy eski clicks threaded with RnG-style vocal licks.

They believe in the h(e)aven and power of music as a transformative, borderless, cross- and inter-genre force. 

With all respect, they approach to mixing is guided by rhythm, harmony, intention, intuition, and desire; after all rhythm and sound together are constructive, connective, instinctive, and of course unpredictable. 

Well known for their genre-fluid DJ sets which, in their words, “welcome everyone to dance together.” In 2023, they were invited to London to perform in the Barbican’s Pit Theatre for Transpose BURN: Pit Party. Since October 2024, they are based in London and trying to stand still.
