Aperture EP is my most ambitious attempt at leveling up the musicianship of my project while maintaining the sound design. It’s a new exploration of syncopated rhythms and full spectrum bass design , as well as a continuation of my creative journey, playing with themes of light, emotion, and expansion through the introduction of my own singing and songwriting as well as that of Maya Elise on Feelin.

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, they're already right at home in a city and a potential fan base that's served as ground zero for live producer-driven acts across the last decade. Stirring numerous musical disciplines into one super-charged package, there's little territory they won't cover with their signature flare. With a clear dedication to pushing their formula and style wherever and whenever possible, The Rust is proud to host the release of their latest EP; Tenacious.

Spanning five distinct flavors across five unique compositions, Tenacious puts the triple brain-trust of 3420 on direct display. Ranging from hip-hop and DnB rhythms to brolic bass music motifs, the band manages to find the instrumental pocket of even their most digitally-driven productions. With organic drum timbres, six-string guitar, contemporary sound design, and the know-how to mingle it all without oversaturating any individual element, the progression of each composition slides almost effortlessly into the next. If tenacity is the goal, then Tenacious is the dialed-in journey that gets 3420 over that line, and if you've got the same appetite for novel blends and pocketed jams that we do, then you're in for a serious treat.

As if 2020 hasn't been challenging enough, all over the globe the Politics of Greed are all too common, on every continent. It's time to stand up to these corrupt politicians whose agendas are dictated by pharmacological and petrochemical corporations, and the military-industrial complex they serve. Enough is enough!

Australian producer Omegaman has teamed up with the Kromanauts of Washington, DC to create a timely protest anthem. The message is delivered via a funky reggae tune built with fat, punchy drums that really set the pace. Omegaman himself laid down a dubby bass-line, which Marty Fabok of Allniters & Ozskas augments nicely with his skankin' guitars. Enter the Kromanauts, and up first is Kush el-Amin who adds more fresh guitar chords and licks. And of course there's Kanjia Kroma aka Juku, who adds his piercing lyrics and smooth flow to round out the track.

Included with the release is a steppin' drum'n'bass remix by Bristol based producer Waggles, and its just perfect! Precise drum programming is joined by booming basslines that roll out for the duration of the track. The uptempo d&b vibes are perfect for Juku's vocals, and the result is a firing ragga jungle tune that will do damage to any dancefloor. Instrumentals of both tracks are also included.

To celebrate five years since Shika Shika was founded in 2015, the border-crossing organic-electronic collective today releases “Shika Shika 5 Years” - a celebratory double vinyl. The album features a selection of the label’s most-loved tracks on vinyl for the first time such as Yeahman’s summer anthem “Miniyamba”, History of Colour’s classic “Cinder” alongside music by Egyptian singer Dina al Wedidi, German duo JAJA and Sh Sh founders Barrio Lindo and El Buho.

Since 2015 the artist-first label has released music by over 60 artists from 34 countries, including 10 vinyl records and one crowdfunder. It has also created a globally connected community of fans and artists united by the concept of music without borders. Dj and production duo Ancient Astronauts have announced the release of their latest single, ‘Photoshop Reality feat. BANTU’ on the 27th of November. The single is taken from their groundbreaking Afro-European album ZIK ZAK, which will be released on the 22nd of January 2021 via Switchstance Recordings and features a variety of rising African musicians. The album was preceded by the noteworthy Kampala Fire EP. BANTU is a 13-piece award-winning band based in Lagos, Nigeria. Lead by Ade Bantu, they have won the Kora Awards for Best Group West Africa and Best Group Africa and have received support from The Guardian and Music In Africa.

BANTU pride themselves in striving to create critical social commentary with their music, sending messages via music and inspiring people around the globe. Leader of the band, Ade Bantu’s lyrics focus on the entrapment of minds within social media and how the platforms can distort our perceptions of reality. Deep, masculine vocals dominate the single, however light and modern production style prevent them from overwhelming the listener - instead entrancing them into a rhythmic joyousness. 

Speaking of the single, Ancient Astronauts tell us: “Our music always had a serious and conscious touch to it cause we believe that music can, and should, have a positive and thought-provoking effect. Ade´s lyrics in ‘Photoshop Reality’ really nail it when you think about today´s situation when it comes to social media, and Instagram in special. People trying to act like they made it, presenting themselves in the best way they can, overplaying reality, photoshoping not only their photos but their existence. It became a world of boasting and pretending things that don´t match reality. It feels as if people wanna escape reality through social media and luxury goods cause reality is too harsh for them. But then they don´t find their way back to reality. So they live in that Photoshop Reality.”
