Sisters Love was an American R&B and funk ensemble active in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Sisters Love was founded in 1968 by former members of The Raelettes. Several of Ray Charles's backing ensemble quit the band at the same time and soon afterwards organized themselves into their own vocal group.[1]

They recorded their first single in 1968 for Los Angeles label Manchild Records and soon after signed with A&M Records. They remained on A&M for several years, appearing in the Willie Hutch-scored blaxploitation film The Mack singing the funk song "Now Is the Time".[1] They scored a hit single in 1971 with "Are You Lonely?", written and produced by Gene Chandler, which reached #20 on the Billboard R&B charts[2] and #108 on the Billboard Singles Chart.[3]
In 1972, the group left A&M and signed with MoWest Records, a Motown subsidiary. 
They toured with the Jackson Five and had an album scheduled for release in 1972, but this was shelved and the group disbanded in 1973; the recordings for the album remained unreleased until 2010.

Here's a Qdup Re-Rub version Blurred Lines. I did this when I first heard it back in May, before it really saw the huge attention that it garnered over the summer. I had no idea it would have been as big as it got and more did it for a bit of fun as I loved the beat and feel of the track and was pretty happy to have heard both Get Lucky and this track being a glimpse of funky & disco inspired music being played on the radio. There has been a lot of controversy over this track this year. People either seem to HATE or LOVE this track... From finger pointing of misogynistic lyrics, to a pre-emptive lawsuit against the threatening Marvin Gaye estate... It's probably because of the similarity to Marvin's tune that caught my ear on this and I wish there were more new songs that sounded like that, so it's pretty ridiculous to me that there would actually be a lawsuit in this day and age over that. I'm sorry, but you can't copyright a genre or style or half of the music ever made would infringe!

It's all just for a bit of fun and not to be taken too seriously.

𝓢𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓮, the free rider of breaks has just opened the doors again to our office at 𝙱𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔𝚋𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚎 𝚁𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 - and we've got even two solid tunes arriving from him this time! Therefore, we was thinking it would be time to give away two free downloads in this December episode of our ℙ𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝔽𝕣𝕖𝕖 𝔻𝕠𝕨𝕟𝕝𝕠𝕒𝕕 series. 

Keeping us all funky as usually, 𝓢𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓮 makes sure that the groove is in our heart... the tune called "𝐺𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝐼𝑠 𝐼𝑛" takes the original club classic and transfers it to a brand new dimension with a unique, chopped arrangement and happy, wobbly, fat bass-line... Meanwhile, the track namely "𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐼𝑠 𝐴 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑦" treats the original with respect and is being measured with crushing drums, crunchy bass and extra musical elements like some added saxophone-action topping the vibes. 

The man working from South Africa, had quite productive a year so far. Having done and participated in several releases on 𝙱𝙱𝙿, 𝓢𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓮 had been finding the time to deliver suiting songs on several independent music labels in 2023. We are happy to announce our collaboration keeps on working with him in 2024 as well. Watch this space, 𝓢𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓮 is one of those artists worth being looked upon!

Here's one of my secret weapon tunes that I've been dropping in Qdup DJ sets consistently for over a year. It's a breaks re-rub of one of my favorite house tunes from Chris Lake and Walker and Royce. Prosper & Stabfinger are on a musical roll at the moment and their new 'I Know' EP on Bombstrikes is testament to that. After the success of their last release; 'In The Basement EP' which charted high in disco charts and was equally well received across the dance music spectrum, the French duo are back again with three tracks of P-Funk infused disco and dope hip hop rhymes with an all-star list of collaborations on board.

The title track from the EP sees the guys teaming up again with the legendary Ashley Slater and master of all things Funk, Georges Perin on a bass led disco groove. Both vocalists bring their A-game to the mic resulting in their distinctive styles playing off against each other perfectly.
