Qdup is no stranger to the Fort Knox Recordings family, he has appeared on multiple releases over the past few years, remixing the likes All Good Funk Alliance, Nappy Riddem and Fort Knox Five. Qdup has also become part of the Fort Knox stable of DJs, rocking clubs and festivals nationwide and throughout Canada. A well accomplished producer and remixer, Qdup also has releases on Bombstrikes, Goodgroove, ESL Music, Bombastic Jam, Ghetto Funk, Breakbeat Paradise, Royal Soul and his own Qdup Records.

Qdup’s, “Let’s Go EP” features DC native Flex Mathews on vocal duties to great effect. Flex’s old school party rocking lyrics on “Rock On It” are the perfect compliment to Qdup’s G-Funk meets Future Go-Go style beat. “Let’s Go” keeps the party vibe going with a funky, bass heavy hip-hop cut with clever rhymes and an infectious hook that’s sure to get people moving. Greek remixer Basement Freaks slowed down the tempo and turned up the horn-laden funk beats of “Rock On It”. Nynfus Corporation from Budapest, Hungary turn “Let’s Go” into a funky bass driven mid-tempo breaks banger. Texas’ own funky breaks master DJ Love pumps up the tempo on his remix of “Let’s Go” turning it into a head nodding funk workout.

The EP comes DJ friendly and ready to rock with full vocal and instrumental mixes on all of the tracks. As a veteran DJ himself, Qdup knows how to make beats for the dancefloor and this release has them all, from breaks and funk to hip-hop and future go-go, its all here.

Qdup & AGFA team up to remix some of hip hop's pioneers into a tasty slice of midtempo funk breaks. They've sliced up a who's who of original funk breaks in homage to the pioneers of hip hop & funk while adding a good bit of modern pumped up beats and bass to properly thump on todays dance floors and sound systems. 

This one has been road tested through many festivals over the summer and getting early support from Fort Knox Five, DJ Slynk, The Funk Hunters among other top party rockers worldwide.

Qdup is back with a new single 'Electric Tonight', complete with his own vocoded vocals and all of the energy in the air that emits from a thunderstorm brewing. His love for Vocoders came from influences of classic tracks from Earth Wind and Fire, Herbie Hancock, Midnight Star and more recent acts like Daft Punk. He's crafted a funky Mid-Tempo Nu-Disco tune with a synth laden Breakbeat drop for the dance floor. It's Electric Tonight!

The sounds of rain hitting the ground and thunder roaring in the distance set the vibe as Qdup's lush chords, a funky disco studded baseline and 4 to the floor beat get us grooving. Sparkling arpeggios, synth bass and a quality breakbeat push the drop into an electric dance floor frenzy. 'There's a spark in between us. Energy is building between you and me,' Qdup's vocoded lyrics call and respond with female vocal chants and hooks that ride the groove all melding into a quality dance tune pulling from classic and new influences alike.

I made this for my own sets and have been playing it for some time now. It has been one of my favorite secret DJ weapons. I've only sent it to a few of my Producer / DJ friends since I made it and have decided to make it available on my bandcamp. The original was such an influence on dance music and on me. A sampling proto-house classic that I intended to bring some new club sensibility into with this remix... Turn my headphones up!

Qdup's latest single kicks off 2024 on the wild side along with the multi-talented Rapper, B-Girl, and Radio Personality from SoCal, Awoke. When we last heard these two collaborate back in 2018 with 'Sonic Drop', it left dance floors worldwide begging for more and garnered a place on Junodownload's annual Best of Breakbeat list. From their first chance meeting at a hip hop showcase and open mic session Qdup was DJing at Burning Man, the two have been making magic by simply having fun together in the studio and it shows as the beat drops on 'Wild Things.'

An infectious stand-up bassline, horn stabs and a cracking breakbeat set the tone for the track as Awoke goes in on the Mic, calling out to the people to Get Wild. The scene is set for a ride on the wild side as the story unfolds and the party get's going. Awoke's crisp and poppin' vocals ride the beat nicely as she channels her best MC Lyte flow. Complete with a percussion break that feels like it's straight from Bongolia, it's sure to get the dancers out there busting out their wildest moves. Their unique in-studio chemistry led both Qdup and Awoke to take this one to the Wild Side, and they're ready to give you a ride.

When Qdup and Awoke collaborate, the bass & beats drop, and fun fueled raps make heads nod and bodies move. With that in mind we’ve got a heater of a remix single coming in hot to kick off 2025. We get two fresh remixes of Wild Things with an international round of re-rinse treatments from UK’s turntable wizard Roast Beatz and Australia’s badman of funky bass, Kenny Beeper.

We’ve been huge fans of UK based Roast Beatz for his top notch productions and well curated Cuttin’ it Fine record label for some time, and we’re beyond excited to finally get his touch on one of our funky tunes. His mix does not disappoint and flips the original into a Jackin’ Hip-House direction. With skipping, hard-hitting beats and classic feeling house stabs to set the tone, he pushes up the tempo straight into 130bpm 4/4 Club territory. Awoke’s party raps flow perfectly into this Hip-House vibe as the bouncy baseline, vocal chops and tight production sensibilities make this remix a sure fire floor pleaser. 

Our good friend Kenny Beeper is no stranger to Fort Knox Recordings having recently collaborated with label head honchos Fort Knox Five to remix The Fun Police’s single “My Nikes” back in October. Kenny is back with a smoking uptempo breaks treatment. A cracking breakbeat and syncopated hi-hats get the mood going as the familiar squealing hooky horn stabs from the original mix bring us further into the groove. Awoke’s calls to ‘get wild’ continue to fuel the fire until we reach full-on-party-rap mode when the verse kicks in alongside a baseline that would bump in a speaker filled trunk! Kenny’s mix takes the original (and in true Wild Things style) kicks it up a notch for the fans of bass and breaks.

Rory Hoy feat. Ashley Slater - Gettin' Home (Qdup Remix)  Pre.cm

It’s apparent how much fun Qdup and EVeryman had while writing the lyrics for Joyride. They were on tour driving between gigs and pulled inspiration for being on a Joyride to the party. For these remixes, Qdup commissioned a few good friends to hop in the whip and reimagine the ride. First up is old friend and fellow Washington, DC native Wes Smith who relocated to San Diego, CA. Rusty Cravers is the new Future House side project of Vancouver’s Wood n Soo who are good friends from western Canada and part of the Danio Management family.

You may know Wes Smith from his releases on Punks Music and his own Juice Recordings imprint, Wes has really made a name for himself in recent years with his remixes and original production. This is the second Wes Smith Remix on Fort Knox Recordings, and his musical diversity shines well on this remix as he pumps up the tempo to a Jacking Funky House vibe. Wes Smith let EVeryman’s lyrics lead the track and drops a huge 808 fueled breaks breakdown in the middle which is sure to set the dance floor ablaze!

Rusty Cravers push the tempo up as well and remixed Joyride into a bass-driven Future House banger destined to wreck dance floors worldwide. Laden with infectious dark keyboard leads and more dubbed out vocals let their clean production style come through. Huge horn stabs push a driving house beat and a devastating sub bass that can flex any sound system set the tone for their trip to the party!

Earlier this spring, Qdup released the funky dance-floor Hip-Hop Breaks anthem “Get Up featuring Jerome Joyce”, and now the tune has been remixed by both All Good Funk Alliance and Friskie Business. Qdup goes way back with AGFA, having collaborated on songs, remixes and many shows together over the years. Friskie Business is another talented producer that came out of the Washington, DC area rave scene and has now relocated to Los Angeles, CA. 

All Good Funk Alliance is no stranger to Fort Knox Recordings, having released their full-length “Jacks of All Trades” album, singles and multiple remixes with the label. They’ve also consistently released tunes with many well-respected Funky Breaks, House and Hip Hop imprints including their own Super Hi-Fi Recordings over the years. Their DC roots shine through with swung out Go-go style percussion and driving beats while a smooth bass line, hi-fi keyboard and lush pads set the mood for the dance floor.

Travis Payne aka Friskie Business has been pushing funky dance floor sounds for almost two decades. He’s part of the Burning Man camp Charlie Unicorns Crew along side west coast party rockers DJ Dan & Diva Danielle. They’re known for throwing all out dance parties on their unicorn art car. Friskie flips up the beat to a stomping 4/4 flavored glitch-hop tune. A menacing bass line and siren synth stabs set the tone and compliment Jerome Joyce’s party raps which is sure to get booty stomping results every time!

San Francisco b-girl and Hip-Hop aficionado Awoke was one of the MC’s that appeared out of the dust and blessed the mic that afternoon and caught the ears of the crowd, inspiring this collaboration. “Sonic Drop” captures the fun of that impromptu Hip-Hop jam in the desert. This tune pops and locks from start to finish, with an infectious vibe that invites the party to get down on the dancefloor like Awoke and Qdup did that day!

Qdup is flying high into 2019 after continuing his string of original singles on Washington, DC’s Fort Knox Recordings. He also found himself engineering and producing a Vocal Sample Pack along with conscious party MC EVeryman that was released earlier in 2019 with Canada’s Black Octopus Sound. His DJ touring kept him busy last year including DJ sets at Shamhala Music Festival & Bass Coast (Four Deck Set with Fort Knox Five), Motion Notion and Joshua Tree Music Festival (DJ Performance with EVeryman). 2019 looks to be a good year as Qdup has been hard at work cooking up new beats to bring to you. 

First up for Party Platters Vol. 1, “Love Rap Thang” is a strong Disco Break that is like a 70’s Soul Train Line and a classic Hip Hop MC got together and made a love child. Qdup’s beats and bass marry the classic party rap vibe with new school production prowess that really hits a sound system right. This will get the party moving! As the name suggests, “Funk Over Here” has all the funk in the trunk to make the bass bins bump. It’s infectious bass line and call and response vocal chants will have the dance floor saying “Hell Yeah”. Pure vibes! When not on tour, Qdup has played regularly at DC hot spots like Eighteenth Street Lounge, U-Street Music hall and Tropicalia where he along with Fort Knox Five have held their residency “Sao Funky” for 4 years. Qdup has also made the official promotional mix tapes for The DC Funk Parade 3 years running, further solidifying himself as one of DC’s most sought after party rockers. Since relocated to Los Angeles, Qdup has continued this trend frequently playing at some of LA’s best underground warehouse and festival venues.
