Qdup's latest single kicks off 2024 on the wild side along with the multi-talented Rapper, B-Girl, and Radio Personality from SoCal, Awoke. When we last heard these two collaborate back in 2018 with 'Sonic Drop', it left dance floors worldwide begging for more and garnered a place on Junodownload's annual Best of Breakbeat list. From their first chance meeting at a hip hop showcase and open mic session Qdup was DJing at Burning Man, the two have been making magic by simply having fun together in the studio and it shows as the beat drops on 'Wild Things.'

An infectious stand-up bassline, horn stabs and a cracking breakbeat set the tone for the track as Awoke goes in on the Mic, calling out to the people to Get Wild. The scene is set for a ride on the wild side as the story unfolds and the party get's going. Awoke's crisp and poppin' vocals ride the beat nicely as she channels her best MC Lyte flow. Complete with a percussion break that feels like it's straight from Bongolia, it's sure to get the dancers out there busting out their wildest moves. Their unique in-studio chemistry led both Qdup and Awoke to take this one to the Wild Side, and they're ready to give you a ride.

The single comes complete with a radio edit, an extended mix for the DJ's and an instrumental mix to fit the needs of playlists and DJ's alike.

Hot on the heels of his recent single “Bring Back The Funk” featuring Emily Molloy, Omegaman returns with “Gonna Be Alright” a soul funk, horn heavy party tune. This track began over a decade ago as a DJ mash-up and Omegaman has been dreaming of rebuilding and creating his own original version since then. The result is a feel good stepper featuring Aussie reggae superstar Patou and the soulful Katherine Vavahea. 

Omegaman’s production style can be heard in the retro guitar chords and crisp breakbeat layered with tons of live vintage instrumentation. With the soulful chant-like vocals by Patou playing off of Katherines “take-em-to-church” call and answer, the track grooves and bounces with a nod to 70s disco funk mashed up with a some 90’s big beat. Working in the studio with Omegaman were some of Sydney’s finest musicians, and singers, including Rhys Franklin, CJ Toop, James Swanson, and Paul Murchison, who all added their flavor to this funky stomper of a track.  Its gonna be alright!

For those that don’t know Pat “Patou” Powell is a legendary Australian musician, of Jamaican descent, who manages to be in 15 bands spread out between Sydney and Melbourne.  He was recently featured in his own Documentary “In Black & White”, covering his more than four decades in the Music industry.  Omegaman has worked closely with the accomplished vocalist on a number of creative projects and really enjoy collaborating together. Known as Sydney’s own soulful songstress, Katherine Vavahea tackles relevant cultural and environmental issues in her music. She and Marc have teamed up for several projects over the last decade with Omegaman producing her album “Mama’s Soul Kitchen.” and featuring her vocals on his Rocksteady EP released almost five years ago on Fort Knox Recordings.

Jason Brown is Qdup, and has been making dance floors groove and butts move worldwide for over a decade. Now residing in Los Angeles, CA the Wasington DC area native brings DC Funk vibes along with West Coast Festival Sensibility to the dance floor. Over the years, Qdup has released top selling tunes and remixes on many well received labels from all over the world including Bombstrikes, Fort Knox Recordings, Goodgroove, Air, ESL Music, Royal Soul, Super Hi-Fi, MustBeat and his own Qdup Records imprint. 

Qdup has had a steady string of acclaimed original releases with Washington, DC’s Fort Knox Recordings since 2013. His tunes have consistently made it into top 20 charts in the Glitch Hop, Funk and Breaks Genres on Beatport and Juno Download. From earning a nomination for a Washington Area Music Award for Hop Hop Recording of the year in 2013, to garnering Mixag’s “Breaks tune of the Month in October 2014, to coverage on some of the web’s hottest taste making blogs like Magnetic Mag, Surviving the Golden Age, Life Support Machine, Dance MusicNW and EDM Sauce; Qdup’s projects have consistently been praised by funky dance music aficionados world wide. Qdup has also gained a following dropping his secret weapon DJ tunes to the masses as free downloads.

Qdup broke out as a DJ on North America’s festival scene from 20012-17 including memorable sets at Shambhala Music Festival (BC, Canada), Firefly Fest (DE, USA), Art Outside (TX, USA), Gathering of the Vibes (Ct, USA), BassCoast (Merritt, Canada), Boogaloo (CA, USA) and P.E.X. (MD, USA). Late 2015 to 2016 saw Qdup join forces with longtime collaborator and label mate Steve Raskin of Fort Knox Five in a steady string of gigs performing their unique Four Deck Set. They’ve had a busy schedule with tours up on both coasts of the states, Colorado and Montana & have frequented Canada’s west coast BC and Alberta. Their touring included a festival run with Canadian favorite’s Shambhala (Salmo, Canada) & BassCoast (Merrit, Canada) and adding events like Sonic Bloom (CO), Northern Nights (CA, USA) and Burning Man (NV, USA). 
When not on tour, Qdup has played regularly at DC hot spots like Eighteenth Street Lounge, U-Street Music hall and Tropicalia where he along with Fort Knox Five have held their residency “Sao Funky” for 4 years. Qdup has also made the official promotional mix tapes for The DC Funk Parade 3 years running, further solidifying himself as one of DC’s most sought after party rockers. Since relocated to Los Angeles, Qdup has continued this trend frequently playing at some of LA’s best underground warehouse and festival venues.
