QDUP

Qdup is no stranger to the Fort Knox Recordings family, he has appeared on multiple releases over the past few years, remixing the likes All Good Funk Alliance, Nappy Riddem and Fort Knox Five. Qdup has also become part of the Fort Knox stable of DJs, rocking clubs and festivals nationwide and throughout Canada. A well accomplished producer and remixer, Qdup also has releases on Bombstrikes, Goodgroove, ESL Music, Bombastic Jam, Ghetto Funk, Breakbeat Paradise, Royal Soul and his own Qdup Records.

Qdup’s, “Let’s Go EP” features DC native Flex Mathews on vocal duties to great effect. Flex’s old school party rocking lyrics on “Rock On It” are the perfect compliment to Qdup’s G-Funk meets Future Go-Go style beat. “Let’s Go” keeps the party vibe going with a funky, bass heavy hip-hop cut with clever rhymes and an infectious hook that’s sure to get people moving. Greek remixer Basement Freaks slowed down the tempo and turned up the horn-laden funk beats of “Rock On It”. Nynfus Corporation from Budapest, Hungary turn “Let’s Go” into a funky bass driven mid-tempo breaks banger. Texas’ own funky breaks master DJ Love pumps up the tempo on his remix of “Let’s Go” turning it into a head nodding funk workout.

The EP comes DJ friendly and ready to rock with full vocal and instrumental mixes on all of the tracks. As a veteran DJ himself, Qdup knows how to make beats for the dancefloor and this release has them all, from breaks and funk to hip-hop and future go-go, its all here.

Qdup & AGFA team up to remix some of hip hop's pioneers into a tasty slice of midtempo funk breaks. They've sliced up a who's who of original funk breaks in homage to the pioneers of hip hop & funk while adding a good bit of modern pumped up beats and bass to properly thump on todays dance floors and sound systems. 

This one has been road tested through many festivals over the summer and getting early support from Fort Knox Five, DJ Slynk, The Funk Hunters among other top party rockers worldwide.

Here's a re-rub I did using a wicked funk beat from Cameo as a backbone & the main hooks from DJ Vadim ft Zion I's - Got to Rock acapella. I beefed up the bass, Drums and added additional synth elements & FX. This all makes for a nice party break aimed to set off  today's dance floors. This one has been setting it off in my DJ sets and been getting good feedback from working DJ's such as DJ Slynk, Fort Knox Five, Stickybuds to name a few... Workaholics has been one of my favorite shows for quite a while. I knew I had to do something with the theme song and with it as the basis, this is what I came up with. Lots of additional production, 808's and fun old school samples were thrown in to make this party break set off the dance floor. Qdup has had a steady string of acclaimed original releases with Washington, DC’s Fort Knox Recordings since 2013. Their touring included a festival run with Canadian favorite’s Shambhala (Salmo, Canada) & BassCoast (Merrit, Canada) and adding events like Sonic Bloom (CO), Northern Nights (CA, USA) and Burning Man (NV, USA). 
When not on tour, Qdup has played regularly at DC hot spots like Eighteenth Street Lounge, U-Street Music hall and Tropicalia where he along with Fort Knox Five have held their residency “Sao Funky” for 4 years. Qdup has also made the official promotional mix tapes for The DC Funk Parade 3 years running, further solidifying himself as one of DC’s most sought after party rockers. Since relocated to Los Angeles, Qdup has continued this trend frequently playing at some of LA’s best underground warehouse and festival venues.
