India COVID-19 Relief - Amotik [16-05-2021]

Protest music is unadulterated wrath, organised rebellion, it is anger - but it is also love, healing and family. Everything we do at boxout.fm serves to empower, support and lend a voice to communities. Ours, and yours too.

In recent weeks, the skyrocketing violence in Palestine and Israel has claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent people, and wounded and altered the lives of thousands more. Senseless horrors steeped in generations of hate, that the world tells us can never change. We see and hear the bombs and accept that nothing can be done. We observe the open-air prisons in Gaza and the barbaric resettlement of native Palestinians in the West Bank with heavy, broken detachment. Images on screens that feel akin to museum exhibits, hideous figments from the history books, reminders of the worst of humanity's sins. But this really is happening right now, on this earth, as we live and breathe. The ground shakes beneath Palestinian feet as we try not to watch. And a heavy atmosphere of coerced self-censorship continues to take lives. 

The term apartheid has increasingly been used in relation to Israel but usually in a descriptive or comparative, non-legal sense. On April 27th of this year, Human Rights Watch released a thorough 224-page report concluding that Israel's actions are tantamount to apartheid even when interpreted in a strictly legal sense, rising to the standards set by the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid, and the Rome Statutes.

This unimaginable tragedy must end. We must educate ourselves, speak out fearlessly, and collectively pressure the world's powers to end the crimes against humanity once and for all. We stand with the people of Palestine in their right to freedom.

Tune in to our combined broadcast with Radio Alhara this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday this week. On Monday, we will broadcast 12 hours of original contributions from 14 boxout.fm resident hosts.

But more importantly, please educate yourselves, empower yourself with information, and pressure your elected representatives.

We are excited to announce our upcoming release crafted by Save Your Atoll.

It is not a concept EP but 4 different emotional states. Hence the title, Tools For Your Mind, meaning tools that help create well-defined mental images. Doors to other dimensions of thoughts and feelings.

The production of this EP simply went with the flow starting to create what the artist thought was the most dancefloor-oriented and tied to darker images, particularly evident on the track "Surveillance Capitalism."

As the EP unfolds, it intensifies in both bpm and nuances, transitioning from the lighter tones of "Sugheri" in the first track to the darker realms.

Picture this: A balmy early summer night at a stunning villa nestled in the hills of Saint Maxime, overlooking the glistening bay of Saint Tropez.

The occasion? An incredible private event with many new friends and old. The breathtaking view of the bay, dotted with elegant yachts, is complemented by dancing and the laughter of friends from around the world, all gathered above a turquoise pool, which was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable musical journey.

I'm thrilled to share this live recording from such an enchanting evening.

As I played these 24 tracks, I did my best to channel the essence of the French Riviera's sun-drenched terraces, crystal-clear waters, and Joie de vivre.  

It features a diverse selection of Organic House, Afro House, Tech House, and Indie Dance from various talented artists listed below. 

As you hit play, allow the music to transport you to your very own slice of Saint Tropez—whether it's a distant seaside escape or a blissful state of mind.

Revelation of Sound is pleased to present A DJ, promoter, label owner, and festival co-owner, Adam Rahman. He has exerted a significant influence on the dance music scene in the Middle East, India, and now expanding his impact globally over the span of several decades. Although techno currently dominates the dance music landscape, he has consistently advocated for cutting-edge music, whether in the realm of Techno or Electronica.

An innovative DJ and visionary promoter, Adam introduced avant-garde techno and electronic music to the Middle East shortly before the turn of the millennium. Through his WARPED nights, he laid the foundation for an exceptionally credible dance music scene. WARPED has transformed into exclusive gatherings and a monthly radio show called 'Warped After Hours' on Ibiza Global Radio, featuring emerging talents from the Middle East and India alongside Adam's unparalleled music curation.

Further accomplishments ensued through his contributions at Ohm Records, the renowned record store and agency he managed for many years, which introduced brands like Chill Out Festival, Taboo, iLL Communications and many more. Frequently, he would also perform during those events, demonstrating his versatility across a spectrum of styles encompassing deep, rhythmic and captivating vibes. He has shared the stage with notable figures like Derrick May, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, and numerous other renowned artists. Subsequently, he became an indispensable member of the acclaimed Groove on the Grass festival team, once again positioning himself at the forefront of innovative dance music scene in the Middle East. In doing so, he continued to propel techno and electronica toward a burgeoning audience.

The advancement he achieved on a regional scale has been mirrored by his international performances, spanning Europe and Asia, and elevating him to a headlining position in his home countries, India & UAE. As a certified sound engineer, he swiftly transitioned into production roles, releasing music on labels
worldwide, as well as on his cherished KitchenSync Records—a label he co-manages in Dubai with two other friends. His DJ sets have garnered global attention, with his mix for Resident Advisor's Wild City being the inaugural
feature from India.

Through his A \ S \ O \ M alias, he has put forth a diverse range of music encompassing downtempo, leftfield, and alternative electronica. Adam's growth, evolution, and success mirror that of his initial passion, techno. Adam delves into a broad spectrum within the house and techno genre, presenting an array that spans from deep, dark, hypnotic, driving, loopy sounds to the groove-infused house and techno influenced by the Romanian music scene.

His performances are characterized by their ever-changing nature, steering clear of predictability while offering a unique experience each time.
