Brighton based Ben Bishop is a surging songwriting talent with a deftness for fusing heartfelt lyricism with celestial arrangements. Debuting on his own QMN sub label with his first release as Cali Santo, Bishop delivers a dream-like meander through adolescence, refracting tropes of classic rock and Americana to delineate coming of age in the modern world.

‘Big Moon’ introduces the EP with an underlying sense of solitary confusion. Droning piano chords settle alongside lilting acoustic guitars and softly shuddering drums, while a powerful yet fragile vocal delivers sentiment sincerely and unreservedly.

Using locations as the basis for each track, W.Siracha conjures unfamiliar feelings from existing sonic territories, manipulating field recordings and everyday noise to deliver a record that drifts between the existential and the hypothetical to find a plane entirely its own.

Creatively reshaping the original while maintaining the bittersweet atmosphere, Constrict uses chaotic breakbeats and nimble drum programming to make every bar a statement in his remix of W.Siracha’s ‘Down For’.

The young producer has been moving from strength to strength with a string of releases on Med School Music, Context Audio and Lifestyle Music as well as a feature on Koherent’s debut EP on Dispatch Recordings. Showing no signs of slowing down, a steady flow of new material is forthcoming on more of the bass music scene’s most exciting and forward thinking labels.

Drifting between the existential and hypothetical to find a plan entirely its own, W.Siracha's debut EP picked up support from the likes of Les Yeux Orange, Data Transmission and more, drawing comparisons to early Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada.

Up next to deliver his selection of eclectic electro sounds is Will Penn. Will Penn’s music leans towards Electro, Jungle, Breakbeat, Techno and anything strange in the higher BPM ranges. His first release, a two track on his own imprint Tight Chest, will come later this year. His synth work is often techy, atonal & alien.

“This mix is an amalgamation of off kilter Electro tracks, starting at 135 and creeping up with each. My selections for this mix are percussive with a decent sprinkling of bleeps and bloops and of course the occasional break. I found it therapeutic to record as it rolls throughout and is a good sonic representation of how my brain was feeling last week. It also has a few forthcoming bits from myself. Tip - maybe have a listen first thing in the morning with your coffee. Stay safe! Hold On.”
