Martin Schulte is the alias of Marat Shibaev from Kazan, Russia. He started his musical career 15 years ago working with netlabels and being nominated in the outstanding Qwartz Awards 2008 with the successful cooperation with Sinergy Networks. During the following years, Martin began an incredibly prolific stage with label releases such as Lantern / Naturebliss, RareNoise Records or Telrae. Martin's hard work in the studio allows him to participate in various events in Paris, Moscow and Tokyo, making Martin a huge impact producer on the dubtech scene. In recent years he has been focused on his cooperation with the Japanese label Lantern / Naturebliss, and creating his own label, 'Slow Beauty', where he reissues singles from his first albums. All of these Martin Schulte projects have had a huge impact on the new electronic dub scene. For the next 7 years, Martin Schulte concentrated in cooperation with Lantern / Naturebliss and launched his own brand. 'Slow Beauty', where it will be reissued on wax singles from his early albums. Without a doubt, Schulte makes a valid and noteworthy contribution with the release of albums like "Seeeing Tokyo", "Forest", "Season" or "Ocean".
Marat Shibaev follows his own fundamental path: "Deep music from the depths of the soul."

We welcome back Avenue Red resident and Waehlscheibe label boss Alessandro Crimi for his first mix of 2017 and his 5th mix for the series, coming after his much loved "timeless summer soundtrack" mix (https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-069-alessandro-crimi) from July 2016. Here he delivers a mix that he says is "housey, melancholic, mystical and deep as ever... but not so happy".

Alessandro has been a busy man as ever, with the 9th release on his label - Thomas Wood's "Rooted In The Past" EP - just out and with a new EP in the pipeline, the details for which are to remain a secret for now we are told! Alessandro also has a track called "FractalClouds" coming out on Federsen's excellent Fifth Interval label (FIFTH004 - samples here: https://soundcloud.com/federsen/sets/fifth-interval-various-artists), where he features alongside Tomas Rubeck, Beat Pharmacy (i.e. Brendon Moeller) and Federsen himself. In good company there, another solid label in the making we feel. Enjoy the mix!
