Manifesto of A Black Jazz Fusion Ritual

I. Elden
Vi tände inte ljus – vi tände bränder.
Varje ton vi spelar är inte en dekoration, utan en låga som förtär.
Vi samlas inte för att underhålla. Vi samlas för att offra.

II. Blodet
Jazzens ande och black metalens köld möts här.
Saxofonen skriker som en besatt själ, basen pulserar som ett blodomlopp i extas, trummorna faller som spikar i kistor.
Detta är inte musik – detta är ådror som spricker.

III. Ritualen
Vi tillhör inte någon scen. Vi är inte en genre.
Vi är en cirkel, ett syndikat.
Här binds kroppen av rytm, här binds anden av mörker.
Ritualen slutar först när allt runtomkring har rasat.

IV. Extremismen
Det finns inget halvdant i A Black Jazz Fusion Ritual.
Vi kompromissar inte. Vi förhandlar inte.
Här finns bara två alternativ:
Att ge sig hän.
Eller att förintas.

V. Evigheten
När ljudet dör ut, finns fortfarande ekot kvar.
I ruinerna, i askan, i mörkrets sista dans – lever vår ritual vidare.
Inte som musik, utan som ett rop mot evigheten.

Gutulax Galactic Grind Parade

Fiat Lux is one of our experimental Black Metal albums that never actually got released.
Back in the pandemic days, we had way too much time on our hands — so we made music, wrote lyrics, and recorded a bunch of stuff we’re now slowly bringing to life.

This one’s really close to our hearts. A good friend of ours, Nero, got stuck in Switzerland during lockdown and couldn’t make it back to Italy — so he ended up jumping in, co-writing a few tracks, and doing all the Italian vocals.

Massive thanks to you, Nero. This album wouldn’t exist without you.

I usually don't use AI art unless it uniquely fits the meaning or purpose of a song. In this case, i think "digital dystopia" is a pretty accurate representation of the effect AI is currently having on art and music today.

My interpretation of what would be Ranger's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. With Ranger originating from Quake 1, I knew it's soundtrack needed a heavy presence in this one. I threw in references to the tracks Quake Theme, Aftermath, Hall of Souls, and Life. Going with the sort of Gothic theme that Q1 had, throwing in a little pipe organ would hurt either as the Volkerh mapset utilizes it as well. 

A good chunk of the Q1 OST is in the key of D, and deviating from that ended up sound wrong, so in order to get my guitars as low as I wanted them to... I didn't use them. The heavy parts are actually a bass guitar using electric guitar processing. In my mind, this track is my impression of Sonic Mayhem and Mick Gordon interpreting Trent Reznor's classic Quake OST.

Ranger has a tragic story, as he was ripped from his family and tossed into the nightmarish world of Quake from which he can't seem to awaken. I wanted to reflect this in the somber tone of the chorus in this track (and inadvertently ended up giving a subtle nod to the Max Payne theme). Part of me wanted this song to end on a looping fade out to sort of reflect him being trapped in hell.

My interpretation of what would be Slash's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. I knew I wanted to make at least one Drum and Bass song for the champions as that genre of music was incredibly popular among classic frag videos of the late 90's and early 2000's, and I don't think there was a better choice than Slash.

I wanted to do a little counterplay between high energy DnB and slightly more somber sections as Slash hasn't always had it easy. Between dealing with drug addiction and a likely traumatic childhood, Slash maintains a sort of sinister childlike innocence with her personality and even keeps her teddy bear close by.

I wanted to put this out first because it was basically complete when the poll was first posted and I didn't want to leave everyone hanging with release timing. :)
