Being invited to play on the bus after hearing everyone rave about it was certainly one of the most exciting news of the year.

Stepping up behind the decks following the Martinez Brothers was not such an obvious and easy task considering the differences in our respective “styles”. Nonetheless, all your smiles and dance moves whilst I was performing proved the RH crew had made that call for a particular reason.

Following such a positive experience playing on the bus, in the city, I can only imagine what it would be like in the middle of the desert.

Thanks to all of you for bringing such joy to my heart, it sure was a night I will not forget!

The B-side of this humorously titled release is hands down one of my favourite tracks of all time, and definitely my favourite Levon Vincent creation. One of the few records that I can honestly say is well worth the high marketplace price, though I hope my copy gives me years of play! There's really no fitting description for this shifting chugger; it's a totally melodic and dubby slice of techno with a nice, subtle tinge of house-y-ness. It keeps going and going, with every element in its perfect place. Lots of reverb and warped sounds that build a series of layered loops from some ultimately quite simple components. For me that's the mark of perfection: a fugue-like cycle that plays on a perfect kick, bass drum, etc. And did I mention there are some VERY fat synth chords? Oh, and I just listened to it again and must add that there are some sweet pitched up lasers. I've always had a soft spot for the sound of lasers! Mmmmmm, Woman Is The Devil indeed.

Greek producer, nikosf. has always felt an affinity with "the sounds of nature" which, in turn, provide the essence of his production process. With work on the Ready Mix, Lovezone and Etoka imprints, nikosf.'s work for Apollo has already seen him remix Artette's "Day Three" in 2011. Turning his thoughts to " Marina", attention is immediately drawn to Nikos' effort with its metronomic 4/4 rhythm, straight house hi-hats and deep percussive elements. A strong but subtle lead line sits perfectly across proceedings adding yet another dimension to Artette's original.

Rødhåd is one of the city’s most promising and talked about new artists of the last year. With only 2 EP’s on Dystopian (the label he helms with friends) & 1 remix on Semantica, that’s quite an achievement.

‘Spomeniks EP’ is his first release outside of Dystopian but preserves his deep & melancholic yet powerful style.

Apart from a rising producer & prolific dj, Rødhåd is a very down to earth guy with a strong vision and an open mind.

Definitely a match with anything Token stands for.

Reasons for the small break since last year’s seminal ‘Behind The Sun / The Chasedown’? A lot of remix work – which will see the light of day in the following months - and more importantly: finishing his long awaited debut album. The LP is called ‘Frames Of Reference’ and will be released this autumn. The 2 tracks on this single – a double a-side - are both featured on the album and should give you a taste of what flavours to expect.

‘On The Edge’ & ‘Perplexed’ complement each other perfectly. The first is a raw peak time cut, while the latter is a more atmospheric & hypnotic piece for the afterhours.
Both pieces bring display strong & intense techno with an incredible sense for depth & detail. Few seem to master these qualities like Ø [Phase] does.

Quantec alias Sven Schienhammer grew up in the '80s. Producing and remixing electronic music since 1995 first using hardware tools such as Rolands MC 505 and a 303 with some efx tools.

Now the studio is hardware and software in symbiosis. Using some oldschool synths from the 70's & 80's for the love of the lo-fi feeling of those machines! The sounds are digitized thoughts and emotions.

Personal favourite styles in music include detroit and dubby electronics, deep house, dub, roots reggae, drones, ambient and some experimental stuff. He also releases music as Monoaxial and Sven Schienhammer.
