I made this mix right after Navid passed last year.  It helped me get through the initial shock and pain to listen to all his music and be reminded that he was so talented and his music so unique and diverse. It was amazing to go back though it all and think about the memories of hearing it for the first time and sharing it with him. But then it got really hard to hear his voice, it just hurt too much...

The last few months I've come back to playing his music in my sets and feeling positive that he will live on forever through his music. A year on from his passing I feel like it's time to share this mix with the world. I hope it helps all of us remember Navid and celebrate his life...

Larry Heard (born 1960) is a musician widely known for the Chicago house music he produced in the mid-1980s and continues to produce today. He was a member of the influential group Fingers, Inc. and has recorded solo under various names, most notably Mr. Fingers. His smooth production style with soulful vocals and long instrumental passages that de-emphasized percussion spearheaded the subgenre known as deep house. One of his first releases was a collaboration with singer Robert Owens, released under the group name ‘Fingers Inc.’. The song ‘Mystery of Love’ instantly became a classic hit, rising to #10 on the Billboard Dance charts. Larry Heard's musical influence can be heard in the songs of countless artists. For those who appreciate warm and passionate compositions, Larry's music is pure magic. He has been blessed with a unique gift that sends listeners into a blissful euphoric state.
